leslie
Currently my 5.1 system includes RF5s, RC7, SS1s and RSW-15 powered by Pioneer 45tx receiver. I plan to add Quintet speakers as surround back speakers to complete a 7.1 system. However, I have some problems running speaker wires on the ceiling for the 2 surround back speakers. My questions is : What do you think the effect will be if I install (hang) the Quintet speakers on the same location as the SS1s (just point them to a different direction). I appreciate any comments. Thanks.
Professor.Ham.Slap
I honestly wouldn't put them at the same location. Your ears would detect where the sound source was coming from and that would probably cause you to lose basically the true effect of the surround sound. Your only option in that configuration would be to possibly bounce the quintets off of the wall behind the listening area. However, this would cause a severe loss of energy in the sound wave and you probably wouldn't be able to pick it up all that well.
