Pure Corn
Hello All, I recently purchased a Bryston B60 and am amazed by the sound quality; it works very well with my second gen. Cornwall IIs. The bass resolution and soundtage depth are particularly good. I have a low-end tube integrated that has a midrange sound that is as good. My question is can the B60 be improved upon with any tube or solidstate gear for $900 or less? Thanks.
cwm
What do you mean by the term "improved upon"? I can assure you that any attempt to "improve" the B60 with outboard gear will compromise the phenomal S/N ratio that this thing has!! The B60 is one of the few SS units to garner the attention of the high brow "audiophile review mags", in fact the only reason they slightly downgrade it, re: the Class A items, is because it doesn't employ 'bottles' for amplification stages......Very sweet and honest amp with the warmth of tubes.
