It's a dramatic difference if you bypass the passive networks and use a digital active crossover such as made by DBX or Behringer. Otherwise, there may be some significant gains if your amplifier is having trouble providing enough current by itself. But my experiments with passive bi-amping with arguably under-capable amps on the RF-7 yielded no significant improvement. An active crossover improved pretty much everything in a big way.
