arsoisaen
i just had a power outtage, and when i tried to turn my gmx 5.1's back on there is a loud humming noise comin from my sub. when i tried to play something both the audio and the loud humming noise was present. it happens when i connect the controller (the circle shaped thing) to the sub and turn it on i'm not too familiar with speaker systems (it was a gift) but was wondering if somebody could help me with whats wrong. thanks edit: i just tried it in another room with no other wires in close vicinity and still happening...so maybe not a ground loop? Fast1
The first thing I would do to eliminate the power source it take it to a friends house and power it up. If it hums without an input plugged in, I would say the power supply took a hit. Tough to say. B
Fast1
By the way, we have seen problems with dimmer switched here. they induce a noise in the ground loop. Need a filter to get rid of it.
