bman
All my music lacks bass and overall dynamic range when played under linux. I am using a recent release, and have had the same problem with earlier distributions. I haven't compiled the creative drivers, but I would think the alsa ones should sound fine. Anyone else have this issue?

XMMS is the only thing I use to play mp3's. The only other sounds are system sounds, which you really couldn't tell how they sound. The audio is clean and clear, but it has no low end at all. I will try playing just a wav file from a diff app and see what happens. I suppose it could be in the decoding.
Iamyourzero
Two great reasons to love Linux: But beware...if your primary love is a Windows OS, they may get jealous. So just dual-boot (that's not cheating is it?)
