Bill Cain
here's an HF-206. I discovered the mystery horn today, while emptying out a storage facility. It has a sticker labeled "University H-600 Horn" and "600 cps cutoff" It is 8 3/4" wide, 4 3/4" high and 7 3/4" long and has a plastic phase plug held in place w/ 2 phillips head screws. The plug is a ball w/ a pointed 'tail' that projects towards the driver. I can't remember if I tried to use them as a tweeter, in combination with a fiberglas radial horn of the era. That may have been a Community horn, but the memory is incomplete. I may have used a more robust driver than found in the HF-206 with the H-600. But that's just a guess. It's been well over 30 years. I think I have seen the H-600 as a midrange in some University cabinets.
ajsons
Bill, The H600 is a nice midhorn, although I find the T30 a little harsh.. I won this one on ebay. Been looking for a second one for a stereo pair. Let me know if you want to part with your H600.
ajsons
Bill, I have another question for you if you don't mind. My eldest son is doing dj work on the side, and wants me to build a pair of PA speakers for him. I have several plans plus the ones that D-man sent me. I was thinking of building a pair of EV Eliminators. How do these compare with the industrial La Scalas? Armando
