Speaker wattage vs receiver wattage

Excuse the newbie question but could use some help. Am getting a second receiver and outspeakers for a new deck build. Looking at various Outdoor speakers, notably Klipsch, which have wattage ratings of 60-85 depending on the line. If I choose the HS-1 speakers, which are 60 watt continuous (240 peak), and if I have an amp that is more than that per channel (Denon, Onkyo or Pioneer), do I need to worry about blowing out the speakers? I am not planning on blaring the music. Thanks.

No need to worry. More speakers are blown from under-powering than from over-powering. Even though the amp/receiver is capable of delivering 100+ watts, in normal listening you will probably never exceed 5 to 10 watts for any length of time. Higher wattages may be required for brief periods on highly dynamic passages but again not to worry as the speakers will handle 240 watts peak that will certainly handle the brief moments of increased power.
