JasonGr
Hello Klipsch community! I recently purchased a set of two Klipsch satellite speakers (KSS-2) and one Klipsch subwoofer (KSS-3) from a co-worker. I have never owned Klipsch speakers (or anything close to them), nor a subwoofer. The satellite speakers work great, but I am having some trouble with the subwoofer. If I plug it in and flip the power switch, it doesn't turn on. If I connect the speaker wire to my receiver and turn it on, it still doesn't work. But, if I turn the volume up to about 50% on my receiver (with music playing), the speaker will turn on within a few seconds. The seller included a receipt from when they got an amp replaced about 9 years ago. Perhaps that may provide some information. He said he has not used any of the speakers in about two years, but that they worked fine the last time he did. Can you think of any reason why the subwoofer doesn't turn on until I send loud music in its direction? Also, once the subwoofer does turn on, there is some rattling that occurs when it reaches heavy (but not ridiculous) bass levels. Is this normal, or is there something loose?I find it somewhat annoying. Thanks, Jason
Steve Phillips
It sounds like an issue with the auto on circuit. We offer a repair service on that amp, give Tech support a call to discuss. We are on eastern time
