  1. Thank you all very much for the suggestions on the repair. I thought that I would have to replace it as I wasn't sure on exactly how the passive works. I did get a great deal and consider myself lucky. The poor guy who owned them had a hear attack while he was home alone and his house keeper found him 2-3 days later. I am just surprised no one had already purchased them. Klipschfancf4 - I used the 2325 for my KLF-30's and thought it would be sufficient but I see (hear) now the Chorus II's would benefit from a little more muscle. Guess I have a new mission in life. Again thank you for the help.
  2. Hello, I picked up a set of Chorus II's at an estate sale for $300. They are in excellent condition except for 2 small tears/punctures in the passive radiator on one speaker. The speakers are 9.5 out of 10 on the grading scale on all other aspects and sound amazing hooked up to my Marantz 2325. I feel like I got a pretty good deal and hopefully a repair job won't cost too much. I would appreciate any advice on the best course of action to repair or replace the radiator. I walked in to the sale and there they were. I knew the history and following of the speaker so I snapped them up quick with not much research as to whether I could get a replacement from Klipsch. I do live in St Petersburg, FL just down the road from Simply Speakers and probably could go there but wanted to get the advice of some experienced members first. Thank you in advance.
  3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone might know where I might be able to find and purchase one of the Klipsch logos that are located on the bottom center of the speaker grills. The logo was missing when I purchased the speakers but for the price I paid, it was worth it. I already checked with Klipsch and they don't stock or make the part any longer. I would appreciate any info you might have. Thank you. Mark
  4. Gents, I really appreciate the info. TDK.....thanks for checking again and I hope that I haven't made you aware of something that will bug you like the tiny squeak in a car. I know that the sound somewhat decreases when I switch to the pure direct mode. You mean like the high-pitched ring a tube TV gives off, almost in dog whistle range? SROBAK, Yes, the sound is as you described and only emanates from the unit itself and there are no sounds coming from the speakers. None of the speaker hiss I have read about here. The closer I put my ear to the top of the unit, the better i can hear it. It is not something that I couldn't live with, I just want to make sure I didn't get a lemon. As far as grounding the unit, well I might have to. For now i have only plugged it in, hooked up my RF3's and the DVD/CD player. The unit is more complex than my old Sony so I have some reading to do about grounding. Thanks for the responses again, Mark
  5. TDK, Thank you very much for the response. Now that I think about it, you might also describe it as like faint constant ring noise, similair to what you might hear after lighting off a firecracker near your ear but quiter. Anything like that or total silence on yours? Resp, Mark
  6. Hello all, I am a newbie to the forum but a long time reader/lurker. I just started using a Denon 3805 that I purchased off of Ebay. It is in excellent condition and has seen little use according to the seller. Problem is that when I turn it on, and there is no other sound in the room, I can hear the unit making a slight buzz/humm/hiss noise. Not sure how to describe it exactly, but it is there. I just want to make sure there isn't anything wrong with it? I had a Sony DE-845 prior to this which was totally silent at power up so I am not sure what the Denon should sound like. Thank you for your time. Resp, Mark
