  1. gosh. I cant be of much help but share a similar dilemma. Here in my country , yamaha NS 1000 are very highly regarded. And today i got a friend telling me that he has an oppertunity to buy one for a reasonable price.450. I told him that i want those speakers . And for that i could just sell my klipsch . The first generation RF3s . On listening this he disagreed and bashed the idea saying the klipsch are in a superior league. Dont let em go for the yammies. I ponder what to believe;) until i get a side by side comparison. However seeing this title, id rather disagree that ns 1000 could be any match to the mighty RF7s. They could well be a match for the rf3 , 5s or the rf 82s. Thats just my thinking.
  2. guys , its been a longtime since iv visited the klipsch forum.well ,as i opened up the tower from the crossover plate , i found that my RF3 had been rat bitten . It must have been years ago . As i never saw any rodents at my home. The previous owner had the rear port covered up by a metallic net to keep rats at bay. My crossover damage includes one capaitor degloving. I can see the metal sheets inside . Half the black plastic cover is absent exposing those sheets of tin foil . Now i dont know what components are used up there and id surely wana have this cap replaced ... I would also wana know what is an upgrade capacitor that really takes the sound to stardom. So tell me klipsch gurus what is the replacement of such caps. and what are its values.a friend of mine is in the electronics market and i can just inform him what to get as per your reply. Thanks. ill be grateful if i could improve my RF3 sound.
  3. imho, those AVRs are thin and shrill . Regardless of the brand i was utterly disappointed in harman AVRs the other day i went for a demo of the rf7s with and avr perhaps 630. However your rf 82s rock !!! I have the older rf3s . And had serious issues with bass till i got some room treatment done. Add some distance between walls and speakers . Imaging should be stellar with those speakers. Those horns image very well. My speakers are 3feet from sides and 5 feet from rear walls . Room is 14 x 13. And i have the singer in the room with those instruments all around em. All the best . Sherry
  4. hi guys. i have been blessed with a tube amp. And its not a meagre one.these are Art Audio Maestro mono blocks .my speakers are still the same. I dont have a pre amp. So ill be using the amp directly through cd player. Sony X33ES. I found out that maestros go for around $2500-5000. Now , my question is , are these speakers worth these amps or should i be moving on to the following speakers other klipsch yamaha 690 JBL L112. Thanks for your input .

  6. but i just love the looks of the PM 94 ,from time immemorial ; ) have you tried that amp ever ?
  7. hi guys . i have my same old RF 3s .now looking for a better amp. but i can spend no more than Rs 30000. my options are : SANSUI 907 iMOS limited ..in mint state . and MARANTZ pm 94 . recently it has had a couple of mosfets replaced .but now works fine . i cannot demo em . but plz help with these two . i love the marantz , based on my experience ( keeping esotec pm-6 , 2230 for 3 years ) ...but i donot have much experience with the sansui sound . though i gather they are both highly regarded ... music is a priority .not movies . and the issue is how long would i be able to keep listening without fatigue . some amps do cause fatigue that with my klipsch ...
  8. thanks boxx, but this forum is also not helping me alot . I wanna know if RF3s are worth this amp or should i get another speaker for it now . So far , from the sound , the refs have been awesome with this amp . Detailed and crisp . And very nicely imaging the instruments .
  9. dennie, its good to hear from you , howr u doin. I know i know, iv been off the forum for quite a while. Say how is your system these days , and what are u using ?
  10. those are paradigms 7se mk3 i have not seen them and the friend had been using a sansui 907 i MOS LIMITED with those . He is also selling the amp. I also wanna know if anyone knows about this amp. And its sonic characteristics . It is priced at Rs 29000 . I wonder how it mates with klipsch speakers , though the amp itself is highly regarded ......
  11. hi guys , recently iv purchased a subwoofer and my interests in home theatre have grown alot. But basically i love to have good front end and am a music guy . Iv been using RF3s for over 4years and time and again i have declined offers of changing or swapping with other speakers that were even more expensive .i guess i have declined them for their lesser sensitivity , and ease of drive, their need for a bigger amp, and the imaging capabilities , which i think the references do aplenty . Now i have this paradigm to consider with great reviews from the owner and from my audio guru and guide, cousin. If i get these : 1) will they satisfy me in imaging and detail... 2) in loudness and oomph ,( without the sub ) 3)and run with my vintage 30 to 50 watt amps for stereo namely quad 303 and marantz 2230. Should i buy em or just stick to klipsches ?? I need ur opinion. Please try to be neutral in ur advice . Thanks alot .
