I went to NY recently to check out some utility K-Horns. The sellers said they were in good condition,
but they did not know how to test them. I found the two mid drivers ohmed out at 6.4 and 6.5 ohms,
with everything disconnected from the crossover, and they sounded OK. The woofers showed 8.5
and 14.4 ohms, and sounded weak. The tweeters tested 6.5 ohms and one open circuit (dead).
with everything connected they sounded weak in the bass. The seller said they sounded great. If Clara Peller was there, she would
have said "Wheres the bass!", "WHERES THE BASS!!!". If you are going to look at them, take
an ohmeter, an amplifier, and maybe a screwdriver to have peek at those woofers, to see what
their problem is. What might cause such a difference in the woofer readings? I thought they
should have been closer to 4 ohms.
