You THOUGHT it was a very high quality subwoofer...do you still think that? I'm gonna go head down and make a mock mspaint drawing of the room, its a crappy weird shape and its not really suited for home theater, but meh, its what we're stuck with for the next 6 months till we move. How much would you be willing to sell your sub for?

Im posting this in the sub forum as well, need some quick input. We have an...odd...shaped living room, its about 20x20 or a tad less, its a walkthrough livingroom, meaning you walk straight through it to get to the kitchen, or front of the house, no door. Do you think this will be a good sub? I listened to it, it was pretty damn good, and I can get it for about 220 right now, brand new, out the door...should I? Thanks a lot Btw, I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow morning, so I need the input asap

  6. I wouldve gone for it, but MANY sites have the set for cheaper brand new :-s
  7. I know, i've been full of questions lately, but I gotta ask before dropping 2 grand on a theater. Hows the Pioneer VSX-D811S? I read some reviews, and they said it was great, but I trust the people here more than I do CNET. I was also thinking about the Harman Kardon AVR 525, but its very expensive. I really need something around 400-500, for my RF3IIs, RS3IIs, RC3II, which brings me to my last question, KSW12, or RSW10? The RSW is loads more expensive, I need something that can go below 20hz if possible. Thanks again!
  8. Gah, confusing. I read some reviews, they said if you hook it up to multiple sources, the wattsperchannel goes down...screw that.
  9. really, i thought onkyo was high end? Hrm, maybe i'll start browsing Denon..thanks both of you!
  10. Cool cool. I did have it backwards, its the other way around. By plug in, I mean like Analog plugs, like the stuff you get with video game systems (im a newb, i dont know what theyre called) but on closer inspection, I was looking at the wrong thing, lol, It has the normal screw-in connections. Thanks!
  11. Hey all, I was thinking about picking up the above mentioned receiver, I found it for a tad over 300 bucks, sounds good, with 80 watts a channel? But as always I have a couple questions. The specs say 80 watts per channel at 6 ohms and 110 or something like it at 8 ohms, I'm assuming the lower the ohms the better the quality? Also, i'm used to seeing where you either clip in, or screw in the bare wire, the back of the receiver shows this http://www.leesvideo.com/fotos/TXSR600.gif it has plug in connectors, how do i deal with that? Also, which is better, 5.1 channel, with the 5 or 6 seperate cables, or optical, to run to a DVD player? And has anyone ever ordered from www.abosoluteaudiovideo.com before? they have amazing prices on Klipsch speakers. Thanks for any and all advice!
  12. Whats MOSFET? And what other weird things am I looking for in a receiver? Or can anyone point me to a site that explains receivers and amps and all, I havent found one yet.
  13. Cool, now if anyone can give me a tip on a receiver, i'll be set, with or without THX, although I think it would be better with, thanks!
  14. Cool, are there any sites with tips on how to wire things? And I know the difference in cables, I've experienced that setting up my computer audio and other things, monster cable all the way
  15. Thanks for the site! Guess I'll be up for awhile, hah. I understand a good amount about HT, like what 5.1 and blah blah blah, you get the picture. A couple questions before I start my reading, I need a receiver that supports DD, DTS, and most importantly, THX. And How does cabling work? I always see it sold in spools, do I have to wire it myself? Thanks for taking the time to reply!
  16. Hey everyone, i've been reading the forum for about a week, everyone seems pretty helpful, so I figured i'd ask my question. I've finally decided to build a home theater system, by klipsch I plan on getting: For the front, 2 floorstanding RF3 II For the center, the RC3 II For the subwoofer, the RSW 12 As for the rear, I dont have any bookshelves to put anything on, so I would prefer something small, with a stand or something. Also, the RS3 II, are those supposed to be used as rear speakers? I checked around, but I cant find any info on how these all connect together? What do I need? Do I need an Amplifier? A receiver? Thanks for atleast reading my thread!
