I've got one 2 tb gig hd, a 1.5 gig hd, a 750 gig hd and a bunch of 320-500 gig hds. If any of them crashes, everything is gone. If a DVD-ROM crashes, you're only out 4.5 gigs worth. Believe it.

I SHOULD SHOUT BECAUSE UCANTHEARME - (lol) - anyway, you've got a big room and it sounds like you're a rocker. I like your choice of Adcom. It's great gear.
A set of Cornwalls would be a nice hookup. You'll get a great bass slam factor with the Adcom and Cornwalls. And they're efficient and will fill up a big room. They might cost a little more than your budget but you might want to hold out. A pair of Cornwalls were listed on the Canuck Audio Mart this week for $400, so there are deals now and then. Check out the garage sale section here.
Here's a little tough love from one rocker to another. Anything less than Cornwalls IMHO, and you might be wishing you had - I've been there.

Back in the early '80s before Seinfeld was on, I was doing my Christmas cross country trip from Edmonton to Ontario and back. I would always return through the US at Detroit and go up 90/94 to North Dakota and back into Canada by turning north at Fargo or Minot.
On one trip, it had been an all night and all morning haul, so about lunch time I pulled into some little Minnesota or Wisconsin town and looked for a restaurant.
I found Taco Bill's which resembled a Taco Bell. I went inside - the place was nice & clean but very empty - with no-one behind the counter. Figuring the staff were busy, I went into the men's room. The stalls didn't have doors and in the first stall there was a guy reading a paper. He said hi.
Respecting one's privacy, I went back out to the lobby. A couple of minutes later, the same guy comes out with the paper, goes behind the counter, puts the paper down, says hi again and asks me what I'd like to order. I was face to face with Taco Bill.

G'day, Mr. Thebes, Get out the hankies. How about 'Down from Dover' - a duet by Nancy Sinatra (sigh) and Lee Hazlewood - RIP - (brilliant producer & songwriter, debatable singer in the Cohenesque way)
Down from Dover - written by Dolly Parton - sung by Nancy (sigh) Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood
Nancy (sigh)
I know this dress I'm wearing doesn't hide the secret I've tried concealing
When he left he promised me he'd be back by the time it was revealing
The sun behind a cloud just casts the crawling shadow o'er the fields of clover
And time is running out for me, I wish that he would hurry down from Dover.
Lee
I've been gone so long, when I left the snow was deep upon the ground.
And she has seen a spring and summer coming now; the leaves are turning brown.
At any time a tiny face will show itself; the waiting's almost over.
But she won't have a name to give it if I don't hurry down from Dover.
Nancy (sigh)
My folks weren't understanding, when they found out they sent me from the home place.
My daddy said if folks found out he'd be ashamed to ever show his face.
My mamma said I was a fool, she did not believe it when I told her.
Momma, everything's gonna be all right 'cause soon he would be coming down from Dover.
Lee
She loved me more than anything; she could not refuse me when I needed her.
She was the only one I'd loved and she did not believe that I was usin' her.
Nancy (sigh)
He couldn't leave me here like this, I know it can't be so, it can't be over.
Lee
I wouldn't make her go through this alone, although I'll be coming down from Dover.
Nancy (sigh)
My body aches the time is here it's lonely in this place where I'm lying.
Our baby has been born, but something's wrong, it's much too still, I hear no crying.
I guess in some strange way she knew she'd never have a father's arms to hold her.
And dying was her way of tellin' me he wasn't coming down from Dover.Slainte, Hamish

My little world keeps changing. First, Moe sold the Country Kitchen in Cobden. New owners. 'Road pizza' now, not Moe's pizza. And now Klipsch?

Welcome to the forum, Rockhound. Give one of the little Dayton T100 amps from Parts Express a try. There's some threads here about them - In the search box, type in: tripath

- missed out on the Ottawa Valley. The Ottawa Valley is unique in many ways. It has a regional accent, micro-vocabulary and vernacular artistic styles in music and dance. The Pilatzke brothers originate from these parts and they're backing up the Chieftains right now.
