  1. John, Bill H., Thanks for the tip on the Chorus, and the sniping service. Would the Chorus be a big step up from the Heresy? I saw another pair of Heresy on ebay- #3024051307. Couldn't figure out how old they were serial #161y893-any clues. Look a little worn, but cool(paint?) Looks like the Chorus are a bit more sensitive and go lower in frequency response-45 vs 63 Hz. Your thoughts/my thanks, paul
  2. edsterOO, Thanks for the riser info. Tony, The Dynaco my last amp and Belles or Khorns my last speakers-Whoa!! That is a thought there! I will keep my mind open. Good stuff, paul
  3. DeanG, Thanks for the information. I will take a bette look at the Reference series as well. Did the original Heresy come with a riser? Not sure on this point, figured to ask it here. Appreciate your help, paul
  4. tony, Thank you for the ideas. Hadn't thought about the reference series. Still thinking about Heritage as I'm embracng a vintage sound/setup. I have the luxury of time so I'll be keeping my eyes open for Heresy's and sneaking peaks at Cornwalls, etc.. Thanks again! paul
  5. Dflip, Thanks for the notes on placement-that makes sense. I will be perusing audiogon, ebay, some shops(used) up in the big city, and this forum (!) in my search for the right speakers. Many thanks for your help paul
  6. Tony, et al, Thanks for the replies and suggestions. For sake of discussion, IF money were not the driving factor, which speakers to pair with my equipment/room? Cornwall, Forte, Heresy-in that order as stated above? Others? Also, any thoughts on Heresy vs Heresy II? My thanks, paul
  7. Dflip, Craig, jtice-Thank you for your help. Dflip-appreciate the specs, they are very helpful. With the speakers you touched upon-Forte, Cornwall, Heresy, any placement considerations for the speakers? Craig- Would you have a reccomendation of Heresy vs Heresy II? jtice-thanks for the perspective on ebay. I will start surveying prices. Really appreciate all the well tuned advice people are so generous to provide. My thanks, paul
  8. Craig, Yes my Dynaco is stock. Rewired underneath but stock with Mullard and RCA tubes. I do want to experience the vintage-tube sound. Thanks for the recommendation! paul
  9. kjohsonhp, Thanks for the input. Differences between the Cornwall & Heresy? Are there placement considerations. I am not familiar with the Forte-well any of these really, not firsthand. The budget is a bit flexible(uh-oh) so I'd like to keep it open, at least for discussion. I appreciate the help!! paul
  10. Thanks for the replies. I would like to keep things under $500 if possible so used is my thinking. Would a used Heresey pair well with this equipment/room size?? Appreciate the help, paul
  11. Hello! I have recently acquired a Dynaco ST 70 amp that I plan to pair with a Bottlehead Foreplay preamp I am going to build. I have done a search and did not come up with anything. I would like to pool the tremendous knowledge base here as I am interested in experiencing the Klipsch (and Horn) Sound. My listening room is 11'x17' (WxL) with the speakers going against the shorter wall. I listen to jazz, rock, blugrass and some vocals. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! A good day to all! My thanks, paul
