A man and woman in a white van approached me in a Target parking lot today and offered me a full surround sound speaker system for FREE. The guy won 10 of them in a raffle. Unfortunately I was preoccupied and was unable to take them off their hands.

I am having a house designed and coincidently have bought a pair of Khorns. The house doesn't have enough corners for normal placement and the architect says he can put a shelf or nitch in the living room wall 5' tall 3'deep and 16'long about 1' higher than the floor to put the fireplace, Knorns and components. Will the Khorns work properly off of the floor in a cavity like this?

Thanks to all. I listen to rock and classical CDs and the local noncommercial radio stations KPFT, KTRU, and KUH. I will be trying to get rigged up with simple components to begin with.

I'm a newbie to high end audio, just bought Khorns off ebay and would like recommendations on decent affordable equipment to use with these speakers. Tube or solid state,brands, prices, new or used, etc. ppf
