  1. If anyone wants some Pics, e-mail me and I will get them to you.
  2. I just bought a rough Scott 299B I want to restore and my home decorator has said there is not room for two amps. If I had somwhere to use the HK I would keep it. I looked around and I feel like I am asking a very fair price. I knew when I sunk the $750 in the amp and the extra tubes, I could never get my money back. Some hobbies are expensive. Also I need the money to rebuild the scott.
  3. I just finished having this amp restored electronicaly and it sounds great. I really want to have a Sott 299B restored and I am offering this amp at a great price. This amp has all the needed Caps replaced with Auricaps where needed and various resistors placed. It also has 4 brand new NOS matched 7355 pairs output tubes. The 12ax7's are all telefunken tubes. I have over $700 in it including 8 good used output tubes. Craig at NOS valves finished her up for me and it sounds great. Craig made sure everything that was needed to be replaced was done!! I may have 5 hours on it. I will sale it and the 8 extra tubes for $450 and shipping will be around $20 If your interested e-mail me at: collinz8@bellsouth.net Rob
  4. Amp still sounding great, but my CD player just kicked the bucket. I need a single disc player to hook into this HK A500 amp. I do not want to spend a ton on one, just something simple and reliable. Does anyone have one that want to sale or one they would recommend that I could find reasonable on e-bay?? Rob
  5. I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone know what a great job Craig did with my old HK A500 integrated amp. I had bought a top of the line rebuild kit from Vacuum tube valley. A friend and I did the work and the amp sounded very bright and to be honestly it sounded horrible!! Sent it to Craig and now the thing is a very warm and a pleasing amp to listen to. I had no idea one of these amps could sound so good. I have a Sony STR DA5ES Home theatre receiver with KLF-20 speakers and this old tube amp blows that sony away as far as giving you a pleasing warm musical sound. I would highly recommend NOS Valves to anyone needing some vintage amp work done. He takes pride in his work and his customer service is superb. I do not recomend Vacuum tube valley! Rob
  6. I plan on using the Sony STR-DA5es which I just bought and have not hooked up yet. I was previously listening to an old Pioneer pro-logic receiver that had Advent Legacy II's up front. I bet this will be a huge improvement. How much should a good used Solid State or Tube amp which makes good clean power run for the front speakers.
  7. Thanks for the input. What is a descent inexpensive amp to try and pick up on E-bay to drive the front speakers that will go good with the KLF-20's??
  8. I am leaning towards the 20's. The only thing that is bothering me is it has a dent on the side of the enclosure, which I have not seen. He assures me it does not affect the performance of the speaker. If the dent is no big deal once I see the speakers, How much is a fair price for the 20's??
  9. I really appreciate the great feeback! Thanks.
  10. I am trying to piece together a home theatre system for my house. The room is 15x24 and I will be using a Sony STR-DA5ES receiver to drive my system. A guy I know has these speakers for sale and I am trying to decide what speaker would work best in my room?? I have been told by a friend the KLF-20's would be better for me. What do you guys think and what do you think a fair price would be for these speakers?? I am looking for a speaker that will produce clean precise response to music and video's. I know these speakers will play as loud as I would ever want but I do not know if they will produce the crisp sound I am looking for.
