  1. I presently own the Yamaha DSP AZ-1 and am thinking of trading it in for the new marantz SR 9600. I have read reviews and features and the marantz seems very impressive. However i have no experience with the brand and A/B comparision is not possible as i would have to order it in. Cant return if i dont like it :) So any views in this regard will be extremely helpful. Thanks guys HT Setup: FRONTS: KLF-30 CENTER: KLF C-7 REAR CENTER: RC-3 II SURROUNDS: RS-3II PREAMP: YAMAHA DSP AZ-1 POWER: ADCOM 6000
  2. Hey guys Here s my setup KLF-30 - Mains KLF-C7 - Center RF-3 - Surrounds RC-3II - Rear Center RSW 12 - Subwoofer Yamaha RZ-1 - Reciever Amp All speakers set to large. LFE output to subwoofer only. Would it be worth the money to change my mains to RF-7? Also how does the RZ-1 compare to the denon 5803 or 5805?? I havent had the opportunity of hearing anything above the denon 3803 which did not appeal to me a lot. Any input on this would be welcome. Thanks a lot guys
  3. Thanks a million nicoletl Theres one problem though. The DSP AZ-1 does not have crossover frequency settings as far as i remember. I have navigated the menu thoroughly and couldn't find it. The RSW sub has the option of enabling or disabling low frequency crossover though.
  4. Hello people I just traded in my KSW-300 for RSW 12 and want some advice on how to hook it up. Here is a list of my equipment: KLF-30 (Fronts) KLF C-7 (Center) RF 3 (Surrounds) RC 3 (Rear Center) RSW 12 (Sub) Yamaha DSP AZ-1 (Asian version of RZ-1) Bass out from my speaker settings is set to "Both". All speakers are set to "Large" The qs are as follows: - I read somewhere about using a Y adaptor so that the single output from the reciever can be connected to the L/R inputs in the sub since the RSW does not have a separate LFE input. Should i use a Y adaptor or not? - Should low pass crossover be enabled or disabled (LFE mode)according to my speaker settings in the reciever as mentioned above? Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million guys!!!!!!
  5. Hi all This is the list of equipment i m using: KLF 30 (Main) KLF C7 (Center) RF-3 (Surrounds) RC-3II (Rear Center) KSW-300 (Sub) Yamaha DSP AZ1 My ksw-300 is connected to my amp via the LFE jack. From the speaker settings in the amp, bass control is set to BOTH. How should i set the following on my ksw-300: 1) Phase - 0 or 180? 2) High pass switch - 40 khz or 80 khz? 3) Low pass control - Where between 40khz to 120khz? Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated fellas. Thanks a million
  6. Hello people I have recently changed my sub from KSW-300 to KSW-15. I was wonndering whether my ears are not attuned to it or is there a genuine problem but it feels that the KSW-15 has a lot LESS punch than the older KSW-300. why is that?? i thought the newer model was supposed to go deeper hit harder but somehow i m not feeling it. I use Monster so the cabling is also not an issue. i use the LFE connection only. Any comments about this would be helpful. Also if someone would be kind enough to guide me as to how to manipulate the LOW PASS Frequency (presently set at 80) in conjuction with the HIGH PASS switch which has two choices 50mhz ahd 100 mhz. How to set these?? Thanks a million guys.
  7. hello people I have a pair of KLF -20 at front and RF 3 in the rear. Both these models are bi-wireable but someone told me that the amp has to have a similar option for the bi wiring to work. Now i havent seen such an amp and was wondering how it works. Will both the wires from the speakers i.e high and low frequence will go ito the same jack into the amp?? what is the difference in sound quality? Any response will be appreciated. Thanks KLF-20 (Front) KLF-C7 (Center) RF-3 (Surround) KSW-15 (Subwoofer) Yamaha DSP AZ1 (Amp) Panasonic S75 Progressive Scan DVD LG 49" Projection TV
  8. hello people I recently came across this amp in the market and loved it. Presently using Denon 3803, i would like to know about value for money if i go for it. As far as i know this is supposed to be the top of the line amp yammy has. Price range is about $ 2000. Would appreciate any comments on how these two compare and which is preferable wrt my speaker setup. Thanks KLF 20 (Mains) KLF C7 (Center) RF 3 (Rear) KSW 300 (Subwoofer) Sony Wega 34" Flatron Panasonic X-10 DVD
  9. Hello people I recently bought the Denon 3803 to replace my Yamaha DSP A-1. In the Speaker Configuration Settings there is setting for "Crossover Frequency". I believe the range is from 40 khz to 120 khz. Where should i set this according to my equipment? Here s a list of what i have: KLF-20 FRONT RF 3 SIDE SURROUNDS KLF C-7 CENTER CHANNEL KSW-300 SUBWOOFER (Adjustable Low pass frequency presently @ 80 khz) Also i feel that the fronts are sounding too bright against the ceter channel whcih should not be the case as they are perfectly matched. I have to reduce the front channels to 3db lower than the center. Any input on this will be appreciated. Thanks a million!!!!!
  10. Thx a lot JT for the detailed analysis. It was nice of u to take so much time. If i may impose upon u a bit further, I have bought the 3803 but there is a pblm. My center isnt really doing all that well. It seems that the dialogues are muffled on most scenes where there are lot of front effects. e.g I was watching "We were Soldiers" on it and i had to reduce the fronts to 6.0db for anything to make any sense. My KSF C-5 was doing ok with the Yamaha. there is nothing wrong with the wiring i checked that first. The test tone also sounds quite ok. I am at a loss as to what to do. Since u r also using denon u mite be able to point out if there r any settings that i m missing here. Any input on this will be most appreciated. Thanks KLF-20 (Front) KSF C-5 (Center) RF-3 (Rear) KSW-300 (Sub) Panasonic SV-10 DVD Denon 3803 (Reciever)
  11. Hello people. I have a slight dilema re amplifiers for my HT setup. The choice is b/w Denon 3803 or the older Yamaha DSP A-1 (which i m using at present)Ive been told that denon sounds much clearer and sharper with deeper bass as opposed the the high boom generated by yamaha. the price differnce is quite steep and i was wondering if its really worth the money. I would appreciate any advice in this regard. Thanks KLF-20 (Front) KSF C-5(Center) RF-3 (Surrounds) KSW-300 (Subwoofer) Panasonic SV-10 DVD Yamaha DSP A-1 (Amp)
  12. Thanks a million Jalen!! i really appreciate ur response. Ill see if i can find the equipment u mentioned and check things out.
  13. I have a pair of KG 4.5 s that i am really fond of. I have recently bought a pair of RF-3s and a KSW-300 subwoofer. I was wondering whether i could use the 4.5 s as surrounds because i really dont want to sell them off. Would there be a severe impact on sound quality if i do that? Also is my KSF-C5 a matching center for the RF-3? I know i can do better with the matching reference center but how would this be? How would all this work with a Yamaha DSP-A1 Amp? I would appreciate any suggestions for the overall improvement of my system as i m pretty new to this. Thanks people RF-3 (Front) KSF-C5 (Center) KG-4.5 (Rear) ????? Yamaha DSP-A1 KSW-300 (Subwoofer)
