I wasn't sure whether to put this in the 2-Channel or Home Theater area, but HT is more active, so I'll don my fire suit and here goes...
I've heard all manner of live musical performance for many years. When I hear home audio gear judged by its fidelity to live performance, I just don't understand why this is a relevant standard. For instance, I attended a Boston concert last night. "Imaging"? "Depth"? "Spaciousness"? Forget it! Even though it sounded great, I feel any well-produced studio album can sound worlds better than any live performance where amplification is involved. The only way this line blurs, in my opinion, is a live performance of acoustic instruments with little, if any, amplification--and only when the listener is ideally located relative to the performers.
I have a complete R35 system (well, using KSW200 and waiting on the RW10...) in a 14x28 room, being fed by a NAD T 762. Despite my skepticism with the "traditional" definition of "good sound", I am very happy with these boxes. I just wish I weren't in an attached condo so I could really let them rip.
