If the above suggestions don't work, Try using the stereo inputs (red/white) instead of the LFE input. I had a KSW sub that for some reason, the LFE input crapped out. The sub produced about half the output that it had originally. I hooked up to the stereo inputs and my output went back to normal.

I'm not sure what connections your sub has, but I had two KSW-15's that 'lost' their punch. One turned out having something screwy with the LFE input, and when I changed to the regular dual rca inputs, the punch returned. Every cable I tried in the LFE input produced carpy results. The other turned out to be some sort of cable problem. I simply switched to a new cable and the BOOM was back. hope you get your punch back!!

Don't feel bad Tank. I don't have an SVS but am still in the same dilemma. I've been waiting for the PB2-Ultra pre-order date, but can't decide whether or not just to go ahead and get one Ultra or two PB2-Plus. I figure the price after shipping won't be too far off for either option. I've even considered saving a few bucks and going with 2 PB2-ISD's. Tom has been very helpful and said any of these options would be more than what I need, but its still hard making up my mind. The PB2-plus are 1-2 weeks backorder according to the main SVS site as well as 2weeks out on the ISD's so I guess it won't hurt to wait. I also thought about the B4-plus, but don't have the extra $1k to pull it off and the WAF would be pretty low if I spent that much-- hehee I just hope some unexpected event doesn't come up that eats into my upgrade savings I've accumulated.

I wouldn't give reliable audio video even a second of my consideration after my dealings with them. I placed the order on the phone for some RF-3's and they totaled up the shipping and everything. Then, they called back and said they couldn't ship the speakers to me for what they agreed on and were going to charge SIGNIFICANTLY more. After a bunch of nonsense, I finally did get my credit card refunded. These guys used to have 5 or more websites they were selling the same stuff from. They are also speedandsound and I can't recall the others. How many websites do you need if you are a legit online business? There are other online dealers with better reputations,(dunno if its against forum rules to post them here) but like others have said, give your local dealer a shot first.

Another plug for www.avsforum.com Lots of helpful people there and info. I was able to get a PJ and 92" screen for less than half of what my RPTV cost to get my feet wet in the pj market. <$1,200 Its better than going to the movies.

MBM135 Have you ever considered a projector? Since you said you move often, it would be much easier to move than a bigscreen and you could easily change screen sizes depending on the size of your HT room. And you would be amazed at the picture quality on even sub <1,000 projectors today. I have a $2,500 53" 4:3 rp bigscreen with a great picture. I also have an Infocus X1 projector I got for $850, plus about $350 for a mid-level 106" 16:9 screen that has a picture that equals or exceeds the rp bigscreen. It definitely looks better than any movie theater I've been in. If you can demo a pj and need this for HT, I'd try it. I was amazed at how incredible the picture was. Combined with all my Klipsch speakers, it's a great setup for HT. For a few more bucks you could probably get a better pj than I have and stay under your $2,000 budget. Just an option that would be easier to take with you when you move compared to hauling a huge TV.

That stinks... About how much time elapsed before you noticed the discs were unplayable? I've been using cheapo optodiscs which were given low marks in your link, but they play in every brand of DVD player that I own. (about 8 different brands) Guess I'll have to backup the backups.

When you say you lost half your collection, do you mean the discs stopped reading after some time or did they just not record properly in the first place? Might be changing brands.
