Thanks for all the comments. Agree the floor standing would be much better, just picked up the RB35s 2 weeks ago...wonder if my local guy might consider a change up to floors. May have to forget the WAF and get the big ones. I have not compared the floorstanding units lately hmmm. One problem with the initial placement is that I tossed the RBs in some upper niches 7 1/2' high--I am assuming this is robbing a bit of the impact from these speakers...

My 5.1 system just plain lacks impact. I want more intense power and bone ripping sound waves to knock me over and into my couch! I am not looking to increase sound levels, but the physical impact of the listening experience--does that make sense? My <$1000 car audio setup rattles my bones and makes my mirrors unusable. I am assuming this is due to small space within my F250 SuperDuty compared to my amphatheater-like living room (22 x25'). Increasing the volume does make it louder, but it lacks the intense punch/power that my car-audio system delivers. Am I wishing for too much? I have seen recommendations on pre-amps etc but most are way over my head. I think I need the basics. Do I need to up the current to my speakers? Cannot increase the size of the speakers due to low WAF--can I improve the impact with more power??? My new system: Denon AVR 1804 (90w x 6) Front: RB35s Rear: RCR-5s Center: RC-35 Sub: RW12

I have a large room with one wall almost entirely windows to 8'. Floor is approx 22x25' 75% tile/25% carpet. Granite island and countertops with vaulted ceilings (from 10-16'). Can you say echo? I am working on window coverings. Any ideas on sound proofing??? (perhaps on top of cabinets in high niches)--anywhere it cannot be seen. My klipsch setup has potential, but it is stuck in an echo chamber!

The RW12 has the single LFE input, the left/right RCA and a High input. The high input is a left +/- and a right +/- connection (4 inputs). Double check, but I think you can just take one of your channel outs (ex B speakers) to the sub...? (at least thats how I interpreted the explaination from the Klipsch tech support for my RW12).

Since I bought the RCR-5's from Orange, I can tell you they sound great. The speakers blend right into the ceiling despite the difference in color due to their low profile and round shape. Regarding the bass--no it does not sound or feel like the bass from the RW12 I just picked up--but it can rattle the windows--not bad for a ceiling speaker. Sound very much like the RB25s. Install was easy approx 15 minutes for each including drywall cutting. WAF is good--she wants another pair for the bedroom!

My RW-12 has aquired two small dents on the center of the cone. Not sure of the term but its the part that covers to coil? Anyway its the newer reference so its not the black cloth 'bubble' but rather a smooth concave copper colored thing. The dents are both approx. 0.5mm x 1cm. (pencil gouge?) Does this even matter to sound quality???? I hate having realatively new equipment that is not perfect--but if it does not affect sound quality--I could live with it. Klipsch tech support?? anyone??

There is a large difference between the RB15, 25 and 35s (I have not heard the 75s). Increase in the cabinet size, power and cone/driver sizes all help. I can hear a big difference in quality of sound as you switch between each of these. I actually just decided to go with the RB35s for my fronts (they play plenty loud for me, sound is beautiful and with a sub--are just awesome for the money.

I just installed a pair of RCR-5s in my vaulted ceiling last week--they sound great. Was not sure on the mounting kit either-called Klipsch, they said it was not needed. I believe it like a sleave for the speaker that you can mount to the studs (if you are pre-drywall). I just makes installation easier. I have to say-I did not have any problems, with install-just cut the hole with the template, connect wires, put in the speaker and tighten down. Have fun (nothing like standing on the top of a ladder 12 feet in the air with nothing but a round speaker in one hand and a drill in the other!!)

Thanks for all the replies and warnings... I went ahead and ordered my fronts and receiver 2 days ago. Regarding the comment on audio-store snobs--agree. Although I have heard a few sales people who knew their products, they also had an attitude. Most of the rest knew very little about the tech. details of their products. It made comparisons of subs very difficult for me with a limited experience of sub-comparison expertise. I have learned far more in 1 month on this forum then 6 months talking to sales reps and reading reviews. Thanks

Who is buying speakers/receivers online? Seems like some of the companies are removing serial numbers (actually read it in the company's "about us" section), just as the warnings by Klipsch and Denon warn about....and state that they will not honor the warranty on such items... On the other hand if you can save 30% on a pair of $600 speakers--why not? These are good companies/good products they will likely work or not... I could see being concerned with a speaker costing thousands, but $600? I plan to pick up a pair of RB-35s, RC-35 a sub (still choosing) and a Denon AVR 1804 receiver. If bought on line I give up most or all warranty but likely save $500. Even if something went wrong down the line I would have saved enough to replace the problem anyway...?? Am I crazy? Are others considering this? I LIKE GOOD SERVICE, but I don't like wasting money either... Opinions please>>>

I bought RCR-5s off Orange--they sound great! Really fill the room with clean sound--big improvement over my old 3-way floorstanders!

Room A: 5.1 surround setup Room B: pair of ceiling speakers (bedroom) Room C: pair of ceiling speakers (patio) Two rooms makes sense with A and B speaker options on most receivers. But without using a 2nd system--how do you just use the speakers in the 3rd room?? I haven't seen a speaker choice as "A, B, C" on any receivers. Speaker switcher on the 'B speakers'?--seems cheezy. Please advise

Sounds good-will give you a call. I am at work until 3:30-4ish downtown. Would like to ask about your SVS--I am stalling over the SVS 25-31 or the RW-12.... As far as the HT goes--this is the first set of speakers unless you want to hear my 15 year old Realistics with the 'finger-pushed-in' cone centers...
