I have always thought Onkyo's have very strong amps for the price. If you are going to shop online, try bestpriceaudiovideo.com their service is fantastic. Best Buy is very expensive, I saved over $200 on my speakers (and they weren't that expensive to begin with).

If wires don't make a difference I am certifiable, as I heard it quite clearly.

Check out www.venhaus1.com/diycatfivecable.html. Be warned, this takes a long time (I was laid up after a car accident) but well worth the effort IMHO. Also TNTaudio has some less time consuming projects and they sound great as well. Save some money, these are at least the equal of any Monster product. Plus you did it yourself, and that is always a good feeling.
