  1. They are actually say "Black satin finish" on the back of the 400's
  2. I have a Klipsch KSP system that I would like to give a new home. They were well taken care of. Purchased from an authorized dealer 6 years ago. All black finish. KSP 400 (2), KSP c6 (1), KSP s6 (2). I have all of the accessories and paperwork. No boxes. If you live close I will meet you half way. I live in Arkansas. Please contact me via email. They are in excellent condition. Thanks Patrick
  3. Sorry Avman. After 5 years I have jumped ship. Just upgraded and this setup is just sitting in my home theater. All they need is a new home.
  4. I have an entire KSP setup for sale if you would like to contact me. KSP-400 mains (2) KSP-C6 (1) KSP-s6 (2) All are in Black ash All were purchased new by me about 5 years ago from an authorized dealer. They are all in excellent condition. Contact me @ Phansson@aol.com Thanks patrick
  5. I have tried unhooking one sub and it helps a bit. Then I feel like I am not getting enough bass. As I have been sitting here contemplating my situation today I would also like to add that I feel the soundstage is lacking. You can tell where the sound is coming from. I would like the soundstage to sound larger.
  6. Thanks for the quick responses. The two subs are part of the problem. I get muddy bass. I have tried a lot of things and keep coming up with the same problem. The placement of the speakers HAS to be where they are (which are close to a fireplace and corners) this gives a little boost to the low frequencies. I have thought about just adding a sub but that would kind of defeat the reason to have the KSP fronts. Therefore the reason I was looking at the smaller reference series and adding a seperate sub.
  7. I have a Klipsch KSP matched 7.1 system. I am having a case of the "upgrades" right now and would hope to get some info from this forum. I have all ways been pleased with the sound of my KSP's. The detail, timbre matching and separation of my system is really good. I use my setup 90% Home theater and 10% music. I have noticed lately that the sound is a little flat especially on audio. I think that I would like to go to standard fronts (rf-7's) and a separate sub instead of an all in one unit (ksp). How do the RF series compare to the KSP series?
  8. Ok, Lets say you purchase the cara or etf software. Now what do you do? This is the question NOBODY EVER ANSWERS! How do you "fix" the problems you see with the program?????
  9. I have the speakers toed in and actually my room sounds ok. The big problem is bass response. As the KSP-400's have the subs built into them. This means that to put them in the correct placement for the screen, I have to have them in the corners. It produces a TON of bass but it sounds muddy. I think I would be better off selling them and getting seperate front mains and getting a seperate sub.
  10. I have been working on my home theater for about two months now. I have a pretty decent setup of equipment. I did not have the luxury of building a dedicated room though and that worries me as far as acoustics. I have seen many members talking about room calibration equipment and programs. This all looks cool, but how do you fix the problem? I am sure that I have some peaks and valleys in my sound but do you fix it with a digital EQ? A standard EQ? A digital processor? I would think someone in here would be able to help me. Thanks
  11. I think it sounds pretty interesting. If I would have had the money I would have purchased a Lexicon MC-12 balanced. It has a microphone system that "levels" out a room. I am not talking about output levels. I am talking about the rooms resonance making certain octaves sounding louder or muddy. No it can't know what your room looks like. It can take into account the accoustics of that room though. Anyway, thanks for the input. I just thought it made a lot of sense. Velodyne is doing the same thing. The sub just costs around $2500.
  12. SOS Subwoofer Optimizer anyone tried it? I read an ad yesterday for the new velodyne Digital drive series subs and thought it looked like a really good idea. I started looking on the net and found a SOS subwoofer optimizer that goes between the sub out and the sub input. It looks kind of interesting. I have a large room that has muddy bass and was thinking this might work.I am running KSP 400's Anyone tried this???? Take a look (cut and paste) www.speakercity.com/Sos/SubwooferOptimizer.shtml

  14. I messed around with the settings last night and got closer to the sound I am looking for. I tried a coaxial digital cable ( was using toslink) it seemed to mellow the highs and bring the mids in a little. To marksdad: How do you have your denon 2900 hooked up? Coaxial or toslink???
  15. I finally watched the Two Towers yesterday. I have been upgrading my system for about a month. I was very excited about watching LOTR. The soundtrack sounded very high with very little mid range response. Is this a problem with the DVD or my system. I have watched other movies and do not seem to see this problem. Any help???
