You happened in on a fine day, indeed. http://www.rogueaudio.com/images/enlarged/TEMPESTF.JPG" border="0"> I think you are referring to the ROGUE TEMPEST in the Magnum version integrated (there is no "r" after the "e"). This integrated uses 4 KT-88 output tubes which, in my view, are more geared towards the rock side of the spectrum. IT actually have a load of 12AU7 and 2 12AX7. I really dont know too much about this integrated but some of the Rogue stuff is pretty good. On the other hand, you can buy A LOT OF GOOD TUBE OPTIONS for this amount, perhaps some things I would choose over this one. Below are a few of the options and some specs that mean very little in the final nut, sound-wise but there you go. Would I buy it? I dont think so - not for this many ducats as many things arise in this price range. What got you interested in this Rogue integrated? At the very least, give it a whirl to get some exposure. So you are doing the smart thing there. What is your musical interest and listening habits? Do you like subtlety or raw power or a bit of both? AGain, $2200 brings some options. - Ultra-wide bandwith output transformers - Massive high storage power supply - Matched quad output tubes - User selectable 4 or 8 ohm output taps - User selectable triode or ultralinear output - (4) KT88, (4) 12AU7, (2) 12AX7 tube complement - 6 inputs (phono*, CD, tuner, tape, aux, preamp) - *External phono stage required - Active outputs for subwoofer or biamping Specifications: - output power: 60WPC minimum - THD: <0.1% typ., <1% at rated power - frequency response: - 20Hz - 20KHz at peak output, - 10Hz - 100KHz at 10 watts - input sensitivity: 1.0V RMS - dimensions: 18" W x 15¾" D x 7" H - weight: 55 lbs. (Magnum version: 60 lbs.) - shipping weight: 60 lbs - power requirements: 120V/240V - 50/60Hz kh ---------------- Thanks for the info., Can you give me some other options you would try. My listening ranges from classical, jazz, soul, some pop., the only rock I have and enjoy is Pink Floyd. I found this Rogue at a dealer here that carries 2-channel only. Since I'm new at this I don't know what I'm doing. I Like music mostly loud and an currently using a Krell 300il ss 200 wpc and don't want to ruin my speakers, so hope I'm playing low enought. Thanks much.
  2. craig, I'm interested in talking to you about your equipment for sale if its still available. I live in okc also. Thanks.
  3. Is anyone familiar with Rogue Audio, I'm suppose to try out a Rogue Magnum, tube intergrated amp-60w with 79 CWs.I know its up to the individual listener but hoped I could get some input before going to the trouble. They're on sale for $2200, that range is all I can afford right now, hence the intergrated amp. Thanks
  4. Hello and thanks for your replys; I'm embarrassed to say I'm a total beginner. I've been reading your forum a couple of months to learn all I can. I bought these cw.s 8-9 yrs. ago at a pawnshop, a friend worked there and told me they were ready to go the floor, I rushed over, took a listen and bought them because they were Klipsch. I didn't know any thing about cornwalls, at home I hooked them up to an old Fisher ss and a basic Sony cd, put on a Ella Fitzgerald and it made me smile. I knew I had something but didn't know what to put with them and still don't. I've stored them carefully in my home since. Nine mos. ago I bought a larger home and now have room for music only, where it doesn't interfere with family, so I'm in the market for knowledge and what to buy. I haven't stained the cbr,s due to my intuition. They're in excellent condition. Again, thanks. P.S. I posted this once and think I sent it to the wrong place hope not again.
