  1. I believe I saw that J.M has his Heresy's mounted on the wall. That idea is appealing! I'm in the process of building a pair of stands for them but wall mounting is an option I hadn't thought of. Now what do you mean by that? Actually against the wall without the benefit of a shelf or ceiling rope? If so how would that be accomplished? If it's easy please explain how. Are the brackets out there capable enough to hold 55 pounds or do I have to make something? Thanks! Dave
  2. Good, thanks! So if either a pair of H1s or H2s are up for sale I can't miss. I've heard from on the forum here that they are the best match to go with my c.w.s. Dave
  3. It would appear that people on ebay don't know what they're selling. I'm saving my pennies for a set of Heresy's and have kept my eyes open on most of the specs. Klipsch says the specs. are 1" tweeter, 2" mid and 12" woofer. I just saw one who said he's selling a pair that have 4" tweeters, 9" mids. and a 10" woofers. I've never owned a pair before but I'm pretty sure Klipsch has the right dims. What's the difference between the Heresy 1 and the Heresy 2? Is there much? When it comes time to buy I don't want to be confused and Klipsch only has the dims. for the speaker built from 1957-1985. Thanks! Dave
  4. I've seen a few pictures of passive radiators and some of them have dents in them. I have a friend who has a pair of Forte's and for sure I know he's taken really good care of them. But he has them too! It doesn't seem to affect the tone or anything, I'm just curious as to why or how. Dave
  5. Thanks Bob for the feed back! It's good to have the forum to fall back on for tech. assistance. Dave
  6. Thanks for the responses, I should have elaborated better. I'm not directly running the speakers off the amp itself. I'm using the Ad Com GFS-3 speaker selector which is hooked up to the amp and is able to handle the three pairs. And it is a two channel amp.
  7. I am currently running a pair of Cornwalls and a pair of KG 2s. A friend of mine lent me his Heresy's to listen to as I intend on getting a pair of those too. Do I have enough power for all three? I am using an Ad Com GFA-2 with a power rating of 100 continuous watts into 8 OHM, and 150 watts into 4 OHMs. Does each pair drain juice from the amp or doesn't it matter? How does the idea work? Thanks, Dave
  8. Why anyone would buy new speakers after seeing and reading about all the fantastic used ones out there is beyond me. I've had my Cornwalls for twenty years and they still amaze me. I'm in the process of saving my pennies to get a set of Heresy's (used of course) to complement the CWs. I wonder if any of the other types of brands last as long and still sound the same if not better! Dave
  9. Gil, I think you're correct and I pretty much came to the same conclusion, not the exact reason though. I probably will just buy a pair as you suggest. The one reason I was thinking about was what I would've done if I had made the set and had something not work! I wouldn't have known what to do to fix the problem. Well, the idea was a good one, just not all that doable. I saw somewhere on the net that there are kits available but not Klipsch. Thanks for the input, at least I'm on the right track as far as picking the correct pair to go with my cws. Dave
  10. Gil, I saw the Heresy specs but am not that familiar with all that makes what go with what. I am leaning on the expertise of you guys and do you think I could put a set of the Heresy's together? It appears to be simpler that making the Forte's. Notice I said ("appears to be".)How do I go about getting the components for them? I'm sure it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a set but I think the challenge would be great. Dave
  11. Hey Gil, Thanks for the response! I went to the classic section and found what I've been looking for in the description of the Forte's and now at least have a working knowledge of what makes these up. I have Cornwall 1s. I'm not sure if mating them up with Forte's is the best way to go but I 'd like to try my hand at making them and was told by someone that it shouldn't be too hard. I can take my time with the project, no wife or kids to slow things down if you get what I mean. Cool! Thanks again!
  12. What is the difference between the two? Not being familiar with the series I need to know as I'd like to try my hand at making a pair. Thanks, Dave
  13. Hey J.M.! Thanks for the heads up! I sent an e-mail to the person you suggested but it's too early to have received a reply yet. I know what you're saying about the money deal but that isn't what's important at this time. I just want to try doing this and to learn more about the inner workings of a speaker and the sound characteristics of it.
  14. Has anyone tried to make a pair of home built Forte's and if so where can I obtain the plans for them. I'd like to try my hand at this project as it will be a worthy one. Also is it a doable one or too involved and/or beyond attempting. I'd appreciate any hints on how to if at all possible. I already have a pair of Cornwalls and am thinking that Forte's would compliment them good.

  16. This site is just too cool! I never knew so many people enjoyed these baby's as much as I do! Can someone tell me when mine were made? The serial number on the back is 37Y233 and 234 for the other one.
  17. Thanks, that was a big help. I'm sure they'll take care of me too.
  18. Does anyone know how or where I can obtain an owners manual or pamphlets for my Cornwalls, xxyxxx? And also what is the best way to see about getting another pair and the going price roughly for them.
