  1. I would say you would be much happier w/ the rsw series..I had the ksw12 and it was very boomy. But you must work within your budget. The ksw15 will be a huge improvement from the ksw10. Either choice w/ make a much needed addtionan to your setup. The svs subs are very nice to but I think the svs's start around around 500 for the smaller powered ones. Good luck
  2. I set my speakers all to 75db about two weeks ago, they are all dead on w/ the spl meter. They I checked them again w/the spl meter while using dve setup disc. And I needed to increase the lft and rt channel volume by a few db each. This is the secnd time I had to do so. My question is are the speakers breaking in, and this is why I need to readjust them Hope that helps
  3. I got a denon 2803, And it sounds great, you could the 3803 or the 4803 and still keep it under a grand. I had the 1803 beore that and loved it. My choice would be a denon. But I am not a pro, or at least I thought I was till I strolled over here. Many posters here have much much more knowledge than me. Good luck
  4. Why is it every time I run the dve disc to the full bandwidth pink noise, I always have to increase the level to the front l + R to 75 db. Is it that they are breaking in since they are new? I put the reciever to a level of -15 each time too? The level is at 7.5 now? Thanks
  5. I know this isnt the classifieds, but I am selling a bunch of stuff on ebay...so if anyone here is interested let me know! Ebay username: tibor-nagy Thanks and Sorry
  6. I will have check out that Adam Sandler movie, I am sure the wife will like it. I am not real thrilled with the placement of the center speaker as it is literally on top of my head. And probably would sound alot better if the couch was up like another 2 feet, but no can do! Hope the drywall anchors hold that shelf on the sheetrock! I will put up another pic of the front side..You cant tell from the pic but the center speaker is titled down quite a bit, the other side of the room is for a airhockey table or something along those lines. Still tweaking and running those tones through the spl, and such trying to get it just right. I will reduce the pic size too I forgot too before..Damn that 5 megapixel canon
  7. The surrounds are on the sides as seen the pic. I guess there isnt much surrond encoding in the hbo shows. Oh well Thanks
  8. Hi Been enjoying my new Ht setup. I think my speakers are breaking in. I did another noise level check with the dve disc and I needed to readjust a few of the speakers. But my question is I have been watching the sopranos and the new show after that called deadwood(seems good). The fronts and center and sub seem to sound good. But I very rarely if at all hear anything out of the rears. The format registers as dd ex and shows 3/2/1. But I never hear anything out of the rears(dvd seem fine) Anyone expierence this? Thanks
  9. I could have swore last year it was in 5.1....maybe tonight I let you know Thanks
  10. Hi, When watching Hd tv with my digital box from comcast(yes I am using the digital coaxial out on the box to the receiver). With my Denon reciever the mode shows a digital source as indicated by the light. But the format shows only 2/0/0. And it plays just in the neo mode prologic 2. Does anyone every get any hd viewing with dolby digital 5.1 or better sound. Last week sopranos only came through in progolic to. As shown by the status button Thanks
  11. I watched finding nemo last night, with a flat tone no bass or treble as suggested by mostly everyone. Hopefully it will grow on me. It didnt sound as bright as usual, bass was fine. I will see if I can make the adjustment, but man the darla scene and sub scene sure did sound great with that sub! I had a grin ear to ear!!
  12. I use the tone defeat mode for dvds, but for regular tv viewing and and fm radio I have the bass and treble cranked. I guess with a flat setting it should sound as it was intended??? Do most people have to turned flat for all audio listening, dvd, tv, radio, etc??
  13. I looked under audio optioms on the dvd and the only option for audio was dobly digital 5.1ex everything e;se was spanish or french or 2.0 Thanks
  14. When a movie like stars wars phantom menace. It says it is dobly digital ex. Is the rear center a discrete signal? On my reciever it says the signal is 3/2/1. Does this means that dobly digital ex is actualy 5.1 with a matrixed rear center or is that discrete channel. Thanks
  15. Hi Yes I believe that you can biwire, I have the rf-3 II, and you can biwire those if there are too sets of posts on the speaker, then yes you can. Your reciever doesnt make a difference, you are just hooking too wires to one post on the reciever... or something like that...no special post are required on the reciever. I never biwired mine I just took off the crap metal staps and replaced them with a nice wire!
  16. The reciever is a denon 2803..only walmart finest rack!! Dont know where the pic went hmmm....
  17. He is a boxer you can hardly even see him though!
  18. At times it can be depending on the soundtrack...but I dont mind I can always turn it down if I want to!
  19. Here is better pics of my new Ht area. I reduced the picture size a quite a bit to fit. So squint if neccessary.
  20. I had a hard time finding anything close to this with out spending a fortune. It is not bad although I think the cable wire holes could be placed lower
  21. I think I started about a week before christmas. But the carpet installer held me up for about 3 weeks! This by far the largest room in our house, so were are thrilled. Tonight is the first movie in the new room with the new equipment....rf 3II and the rear center, plus the denon but most imporatnly the svs sub!
  22. Hey This is my second set, with a problem does your picture seem to arch up at the ends at the top of screen, most noticably during a widescreen picture?
  23. Thinking of putting a foosball or air hockey table here
  24. Now only if I could get everything tweaked right!
