  1. Well, I think I will go pick them up this weekend. I called and asked how much for the 35's and he quoted me $450. I also verified $300 and he said yes plus tax. He is a nice older gentlemen that has been in the business for years. He said he would try to compete with the net as much as he could because he knows not everyone will go to a dealer so I thought that was nice.
  2. Looking to purchase RS-25/35 or RB-25/35 in the next couple of weeks. My local dealer will sell the RS-25's for $300. I figured I would check here before I purchased them locally. Thanks!
  3. I just moved so I'm looking at rear surrounds speakers to go with my SF-2's and SC-1. I know the "match" is the SS-1. My friend has the same speakers (diff receiver) and I'm not too thrilled with the sound. I guess I'm used to a more direct sound. I will probably move up to the reference series next year as my current speakers were a gift. Space is limited so a larger speaker on a stand isn't totally out of the question just not preferred at this time. I was looking at the RSX-5's since I could mount them on the wall above my couch. Would this be a good choice? My receiver is a Yamaha HTR-5660. I plan on purchasing a set of RF-25's so I'm not sure if the smaller speakers will match when I upgrade.
  4. One more question I forgot to ask. What's the difference between the DQ-20 and DQ-20i?
  5. Thanks for the info!!! I have a couple of more newbie questions for you. He will sell them to me for $200.00 which is a steal after reading your post. I may be able to buy an amp soon. My knowledge in this area isn't the best so please forgive the questions. Should I buy a 2ch amp and hook it up to the inputs on my receiver for the main speakers so the power goes to these speakers only? I also have a set of SF-2's and SC-1. I know these aren't matching speakers and not the best Klispch has to offer. This is a new hobby for me so I always have time to upgrade. I'm thinking of moving the SF-2's to the rear since I'm lacking in that area. Are the DQ's going to over power the Klipsch speakers? I'm not sure if they are even good HT speakers. Thanks again for the information. I
  6. Does anyone know anything about these speakers? I have an opportunity to buy a set from my uncle but I don't know anything about them. I tried searching the net but was unable to find anything. My uncle said he paid a lot for them years ago. They are in good condition and sound pretty good. He did mention that I would need to add an amp since my yamaha HTR-5660 isn't enough. Any information would be appreciated.
  7. Hi all. I have an opportunity to purchase a set of Dahlquist DQ-20i's for $200.00. I really don't know anything about these speakers and I was unable to find any info on the net. My uncle bought them new a long time ago and his new wife says they must go because they're too big. The speakers sound good and look to be in good condition but like I said, I don't know anything about them so I don't know what to look for. I currently own a set of SF-2's and SC-1 connected to a Yammy 5660. My uncle says they will need more power so if I opt to buy them I don't know what kind of amp to get. After reading my manual I figured I would need a 2 ch amp and connect it to the main outs of my receiver so it only drives the main speakers. Is this correct? If I use these as the main speakers and move the SF-2's to the rear will it be a lost cause per say? I know these aren't matching speakers so I'm skeptical because I don't know what I would be getting myself into too. Any information, help or advise would be appreciated. I have to let him know something this week. Thanks!!
