  1. Hi all, I have a 5.1 system that consists of RF-3's,an RC3, RS-3's and a Velodyne 12" sub. I have a Mits 65" HDTV and the new Dish DVR921 satellite receiver for recording and high def channels. I also have a little older Sony DVD player. At the time, it was the best one they made. Its a few years old now and does not have progressive scan or the Faroudja chip. Ok, 2 questions: Does progressive scan and the Faroudja chip make that much difference in picture quality? I have the DVd player going through Monster cable component cables and the picture seems very nice. And number 2: I am thinking of buying the Sunfire Ultimate receiver to for my A/V receiver. What do people think of this receiver? Is 200 watts too much power for the Klipschs? Is this receiver overkill for my system? I will not use the video switching capabilities of the Sunfire as I prefer to plug the video directly into the TV and switch it at the TV. The Sat receiver uses a DVI-D cable and I plug that directly into my Mits. I will be using the Sunfire mostly for its tuner, amplification and of course its processing capabilities. Thank you all in advance! Steve
  2. Actually, I called Klipsch and to my surprise, they had a new set of white grills in stok for the RS-3's. 41.00 a piece and if I bought 2, no shipping charges. I bought 2... Thanks for all the great advice! Oh yeah, one more question. I am driving these 5 speakers with a JVC A/V receiver. The literature says its pushing 120 to the fronts and 100 to the other 3. Would it behoove me to upgrade my receiver to something like a Pioneer Elite? Or, are the Klipsch R series effecient enough so that it shouldnt matter? Please inform me, Steve
  3. Thank you all for your input! I decide on the RF-3's as I decided to match the whole system. I got a great price on a used pair and have hooked them up and watched (and listened) to the first Lord of the Rings and this is without tuning the system as yet. All I gotta say is WOW!!! Pretty amazing.... Again, thank you all for your input. Oh yeah, does anyone know where I can get a set of RS-3 grills in white? (new) The ones I have are getting pretty funky and dirty. Thanks, Steve
  4. I have a pair of RS-3's in white and the grills are getting a bit on the funky side (dirty). Are there replacement grills for these surrounds? And, if they are available, from where and how much? Thank you all in advance, Steve
  5. I am setting up my HT now and so far I have a pair of RS-3's, a RC-3 and a Velodyne HT 120 which is a 12" powered sub. I cant decide which way to go with the fronts....Its either find a pair of used RF-3's or RF-3 Series II on ebay or go to the Good Guys in my area (I have a connection there) and either get the RF-35's or RF-25's new. I guess my question is: How different in sound quality are the RF-3's RF-3 Series II, the new RF-35's or RF-25's? I am leaning towards the RF-25's because I dont really think I need the 8's if I have a 12" 170watt powered subwoofer. Please tell me what you think about all this! Thank you all in advance, Steve
