  1. I am using Rotel RSX-1056 with my RF/RC/RS-35, SVS PB10 setup. It's beautiful looks and brilliant sound has me satisfied. Worth a demo.
  2. Hey, I did try towing in a bit. And it sounded great. Only problem was that the soundstage became narrow. People sitting on left and right side of the sofa felt as if the sound was coming from the speaker on their side. Also my wife didn't liked it towed in. So I thought well...little compromise to make. BTW: I am running the system now with a Rotel RSX1056 and I got "exactly" what I was looking for. Can't complain. I tried Onkyo 501 and it performed great for it's price, but it was not delivering enough power. With HK AVR7200 I couldn't convince myself that the sound I was getting was worth $3000(AVR + Speakers + Cables + DVD Player + TV). So I returned the AVR7200. So I am all set now and not looking for any upgrades....well maybe a sub at max. And yes total cost of my system came out to be: $3428.74. This includes the following: Speakers: RF-35/RS-35/RC-35 Receiver: Rotel RSX 1056 CD/DVD Player: Panasonic (cheap stuff) TV: Philips Cables: Monster Cable (Regular 14 gauge wire. Nothing fancy) Shipping Hit: $110 (returning AVR 7200) Driving to the dealers: $50 + Time I will try to post my experience with Rotel RSX 1056 in more detail sometime.
  3. Well...I guess I went to sleep. So much water has flown since I logged in last. Let's take things one by one. 1. First of all, m00n, jobs do not belong to one place. Jobs move based on what best serves the business interest. And business interest always (mostly) boils down to making "Profit", while not crossing the boundaries of the law. Everything else, like employee care/benefits etc. comes afterwards. So if you wish that companies stop seeking opportunities to cut costs and make profit, that is obviously a recipe for end of capitalism. I would imagine you know what that would mean. So as a consumer, it might make sense for you to do what your heart says, even if that meant buying a product that might be 15%-50% more, as long as it is Made In America. However for companies it does not make sense to keep producing at costs 15%-50% higher then what their competitors are able to produce at. 2. I am sure it is very painful when you see the near and dear ones loosing jobs. As far as I am concerned, I have seen my friends loosing jobs. And the experience has been as painful as it can be. But for me to say that we are loosing all the jobs because of outsourcing to China obviously would be an exaggeration. Long before anybody heard of outsourcing (or even China ), US championed the concept of "Hire & Fire", which is still a rage in the developing countries. This kind of free market dynamics have been one of the biggest reasons for the highly efficient and successful system that exist in US and in some other developed countries. OTOH, lack of similar free market is one of the biggest reasons for the highly in-efficient systems of the developing countries. However as some of countries are starting to realize the benefits of US pioneered capitalism, they are starting to offer products that compete pretty well with the products that were at one point built only by the developed countries, and they are able to build them a lot cheaper. And it's not before they would be matching the best of best in quality too, because there is no inherent reason that they won't be able to. In-fact they already are. Hell, Rotel 1056 sounds damn good, and did I say it's Made in China. 3. One of the things that's easily forgotten in this outsourcing debate is the larger markets that US is able to access, and the benefits that it is bringing along. US market in itself is not good enough for companies to keep posting good profits anymore. So if introduction of more players into the field, brought more competition, it is also providing a bigger playfield and thus benefiting all. Even though in short term it might seem like as if all hell is going to break loose. Also I am failing to recall something that Uncle Greenspan indicated about outsourcing, something like putting barriers against outsourcing will harm US economy in the long term. Anywayswell..I want to keep writing, but obviously I am not writing a book and I need sleep so that I am ready for another grind tomorrow.
  4. Gloablization.... Ever heard about it? Ohhh..maybe for you as long as only America was able to sell (or push?) their products and services into other countries it was Gloablization. And ohh boy wasn't it great... Now that other countires are upto offering their porducts and services...you want America to go into hiding (and become incompetitive)? Double Standards??? Get over it. Globalization no longer is one way street. It is a two-way street. It can only introduce more competition and get you better (and ofcourse cheaper) products. Other countires have a right to develop too. That's why the New World Order.
  5. $2150 with tax I think would be a good more reflective of the value if you buy it from a B&M
  6. Hey Guys, I just returned my HK AVR7200, and am waiting for my refund. I was using it with the R-35 5.1 setup. Why did I return? Well...as you can tell from my post count, I am a newbie. However, I do have some sense of music. To me it just didn't cut in the stereo music (never tried DVD-A or SACD) department. To my ears, sound was just congested. By congested I mean that seperatation of instruments was missing and everything sounded a little closed. It might sound really weired, but to me Onkyo501 sounded better as far as music was concerned, even though 7200 did deliver more powerfull Bass then Onkyo501. As far as the movies are concerned, it did work well, and sounded powerfull and did prove that it has a pretty powerfull amp section. And let me IMHOed all the above statements.
  7. That's right. Most of the furniture that you see here is from ikea. It was quite affordable for me at that time. And yes it is very comfortable. Now coming back to receivers, seems like people like HK 7200 a lot. I know Denon AVR 3805 is not out yet, and assuming that the quality of Denon AVR 3805 is similar to the 3803, would you prefer 3805 or 7200? I am sure this question must have been asked many times before, but I am still not sure which one to go for. Again, the criteria here is: Best sound quality, even if with less features.
  8. Picture showing the surrounds on the stands. Thanks
  9. Thanks everybody for the feedback. The center channel is actually positioned on two speaker stands, that are standing behind the entertainment table. Since my TV is only 20 inces, it was not possible for me to position the center channel on top of the TV. Actually I bought two pair of these speaker stands last year from IKEA, for my small (Pro-Medias). I never expecpected to use these stads for the center channel. But with some smart ideas (from my wife) I was able to use all the four stands. Two for the center channel and one each for the surrounds. Attached is one more pic showing the fronts from another angle showing the stand. Also thanks for the tip to not keep the DVD player on top of the receiver. Was planning to move once I got my final receiver. I would try to get an auditon for the AVR 7200 and see if I like the sound to my taste. Also was wondering if any of you would know if Denon AVR 3805 supported NTSC and PAL video signal. I searched the whole manual, but could not find any reference to it. Again I appreciate your helpful replies. Regards NewWorldOrder
  10. Hi All, Well, finally got the new RF-35/RC-35/RS-35. They are all hooked up and kicking. Only one caveat though. They are hooked up using a Onkyo 501 receiver. But despite that, I am enjoying both music and movies. Attached is the pic showing the front setup. I am planning to return the Onkyo 501 and buy either a Denon 3805 or Rotel RSX 1056. Later on I plan to add an additional 3 channel amp for the fronts. However for now, the priority for me is to get a receiver (later use as a pre/pro), which sounds beautiful, even if has less features. What do you guys think? Thanks In Advance.
  11. Ohh...yeah it includes all the speakers. BTW: I was inclined towards RB-75, however not sure which center/surround and sub is going to make a match. Appreciate your help. Thanks
  12. Hi All I am starting from scratch and here are my the requirements/specs: 1. Budget for HT is MAX $2500, that includes speakers, a/v receiver, DVD/DVD-A/SACD player, cables and popcorns. 2. I am looking for 5.1 and NOT 7.1. However I would not be averse to having an expandable receiver. 2. This setup would be used for both Music and HT. 3. Due to various constraints, I don't want to get floorstanding speakers as the main speakers. Would be happy with good bookshelfs. 4. I want to start small, in the sense that get the DVD Player/Receiver/front channels (RB-75?) now and add center/rear and subwofer gradually. 5. As far as the DVD/SACD/DVD-A player is concerned, it would be great to have a multi-region player, however not necessarily. 6. I would love to buy from an authorised dealer, but again can consider buying online. What do you guys think? Where can I spend these $2500? Appreciate your help. Thanks. Neworldorder.
