  1. I'll let you in on a secret that my Mitsubishi Rep told me just last Monday. The LCD Projection TV's that Mitsubishi has the exact same image quality as the DLP TV's do. Only the LCD's do have better color accuracy. The only advantages in his opinion that the DLP's have over the LCD's is that the DLP's have the 8 format media card readers and protective accrylic screen on them from the factory. The LCD's do not include the screen, it is an add on accessory. The LCD's are about $500 cheaper than same size DLP. Glad to see you like your Kenrat, how much did you pay for it if you don't mind my asking?
  2. Just got an e-mail from my Klipsch Rep telling about things POSSIBLY to show up at CEDIA. Only 2 things actually. Plenum Rated Back Boxes for the Inwall and Incieling speakers. And THX Ultra Inwalls. Just something to maybe get everyones mouth watering.
  3. A Mitsubishi WD52527 52" DLP can be had for lesst han $3k ( $2799 ) and it uses the DLP2+ Chip. It has been replaced withe the WD52528, which is $2999.97 but is nearly the exact same tv with a different model number. Mitsubishi also has a WD52628 due out in the next 2 months that is a true 1080P DLP tv, it should run about $3700.
  4. I just realized that this thread is rather old.
  5. Actually, if you "KNOW" who to talk to at Klipsch, you can work at BB and get the dealer accomodation on ANYTHING with Klipsch written on it. I work for a Klipsch dealer. We carry all the Reference Line stuff and can special order Heritage stuff. A BB opened up 30 minutes from me, and they pay way better than where I work now, so I was considering leaving and going to BB. I talked to my Klipsch rep about purchasing some Reference or Heritage should I ever have the money, and was curious if I could still have the employee accomodation on them even though BB doesn't carry those lines. His exact words to me " I'll hook you up bro. All you gota do is e-mail or call me ". I even have a list of Aragon employee accomodation prices that he sent me. Too bad they SOLD OUT of ALL ARAGON from their warehouses. Replacement models for all amps and Stage One will be announced at CEDIA, at least thats what he told me. Will be October before they have any in stock.
  6. Actually that guy that reviewed the Emotive amp prefers it over the Sherbourn. Supposedly its uses some higher quality parts, puts out slightly more power when they measured it on the table. It is also true 7 channel monoblock design like the Sherbourn. One Sherbourn was and maybe still is one of that websites reviewer's reference amp. The Emotiva is about to be in another one of the systems, and is replacing an existing amp. There is a whole thread about it on thier forums.
  7. Your just jealous that his speakers are better than yours, and now you know that to regain your place over him you will have to save money and sell your equipment at step up to at least the same thing he has. Or wait the Reference Premiere system and outdo him alltogether. At least thats what I would have to do.
  8. Whatever speakers I decide to go with I will try my darndest ( I'm from the south, if you have never heard that word, ignore it ) to get 7 of the same type ( 7 Heresys, 7 Forte's, 7 Lascala's = or maybe 3 Lascala's and and 4 Heresy/forte ). And there will be a sub, or two, in the systme. The system, if used by myself only, would be about 90% movies and 10% music, but knowing my soon to be wife, we could change that to 60-40 in favor of movies, maybe 70-30 ( she listens to lots of music ).

The one in that pic is a 2 way , the new one has a smaller high frequency horn below that larger horn. Also there is no longer the gold pieces in the center of the cones, the cones are all one piece with no dustcap. The front baffle has even changed some.

  12. I just talked to the Klipsch rep, there was a misprint in the description of the center channel. It only has 1 4.5" midrandge. And there are dual 8's on the center, not 10's, it just looks like 10's in the pic. I am hoping he was wrong and they are 10's. And yes there is a 4.5" midrange driver inside the larger of the two compression horns. Has Klipsch ever used a 4.5" driver inside a compression chamber?

  14. Upon further review of the picture, those are indeed 10's on each side of the Mid and Tweeter horns on the center. It is as tall as the towers are wide, but not as wide as the towers are tall, maybe 10-12 inches less. The towers have 3 what looks like 4" ports on the back, the cneter has 2 ports. I don't know if the description given to me about the 4.5" mids was wrong, unless there are 4.5" compression mids. Looks like standard 90x40 tractrix compression horns on the mids though, with a thinner mid for the high frequencies. The cones on the woofers no longer have the gold pointy cap in the center. These cones have no dust caps or anything in the center, they are smooth ( think JL Audio W7 if you are into car audio ).
  15. Guys, I just got an e-mail from the local Klipsch Rep with details of new things shown at CES this year. The most notable of which is the Reference Premier system. It will finally be released this year ( it says August specifically ). They also do not completely look like the ones you saw in the pics from last year, they have changed the style of the fronts of the speakers somewhat. The baffles are made of Aluminum and Fiberglass. F-1 = 3 way tower with .75" Pure Titanium Super-High_frequency compression driver, 4.5" NOMEX mid-frequency driver ( there is a mid horn in the pic, I guess this is what they are talking about ), and dual 10" NOMEX woofers. Retail $6,000 pair. C-1 = 3 way centetr channel with a .75" Pure Titanium SHF compression driver, ( and I think a missprint from here on out on this discription ) dual 4.5" NOMEX MF drivers ( pic shows 1 mid compression horn and dual 10" Nomex woofers, and no I am not kidding on the dual 10's, they are as large as the ones on the towers! The price indicates this also ). Retail $3000 each. S-1 = Rear surrounds with dual 1" Pure Titanium Compression Drivers and Dual 6.5" Nomex woofers ( they look like the THX Ultra systems surrounds ). Retail $3000 per pair. V-18W = Fully DSP controlled subwoofer with an active 15" driver and a passive 18". Has other elaborate features that details will be released later. Retail $4,000.
