If your player is set for progressive then it should remain that way until you switch it to interlaced. Check the user manual for confirmation.

I've been to several islands in the Caribbean (Aruba, Grand Cayman, Curacao, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Bahamas, etc.) while onboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Check out www.rccl.com to see the Eastern, Western, and Southern iteneraries. Royal Caribbean has the best food, service, and the ship is literally a floating palace. SACD & DVDA is passed thru the analog outputs only; you cannot use digital. However for video yes you can use optical or coax to pass the signal and let your receivers DACs do the work.

The 2200 & 2900 share the same Silicon Image de-interlacer, so video wise they are similar. The main difference between the two is the 2900's custom Burr-Brown 1790 DAC which yield "slightly" better audio quality. The 2900 has discrete power supplies and offers better build quality. The big question seems to be is the 2900 worth the extra $400.00 over the 2200. Only your ears and wallet can decide, so try to demo them both if possible. It is probably not worth the extra cash for the 2900 unless you plan on doing a lot of critical listening w/ hi res formats. Personally I could not justify the price difference so I spent the money I saved on a nice Denon HDCD Changer and some SACD/DVDA discs.

If you shop around for custom cable vendors (eg. Blue Jeans, HeartLand, Rhino, etc) you'll find that they offer a superior cable at a competitive price. Most of them offer a no-hassle 30 day return and do not charge you an additional fee for using Paypal. Just food for thought....

Merchant rate is 2.2% plus .30 cents
Standard rate is 2.9% plus .30 cents
Charging your customer an additional fee for using Paypal is one way to drive people away, and it also violates the Paypal TOS you agreed to.

The RF-3II's are an excellent buy, and it looks like you picked up a pair at a sweet price. Not only are the extremely efficient, the bass/midrange response is good (even when set to small) and the horns are not harsh at all. They are magnetically shielded so you can place them close to the TV if needed. Overall I have been extremely happy with mine over the past couple of years.

TheEar, while I appreciate the fact that you enjoy subs, don't you think you've got a few too many?
Sitting in the key seating position (18 ft. from the subs) my dual 20-39CS+'s output 118dB (@ 10dB below reference level on my receiver) in my 5200 sq. ft. open room.

Mine came with little plugs that can be popped out. By looking at the other pics in this thread it shows that others have popped theirs out as well.

The great thing about the Samson S1000 is that it is super clean and leaves a lot of headroom that is readily apparent. As far as I can tell, there is no coloration of sound. I have yet to hit a point where the amp clips, and it never even seems to get hot (although I do leave space above it on my rack). This amp offers alot of bang for the buck. The only negative is that it is very heavy compared to everything else that I own. However it does seem to add a nice anchor to keep my rack from tipping over.

Look in your manual for the individual speaker level adjustments; you can raise/lower them. Ideally you should use a SPL meter to calibrate your system. The receiver internal test tones should be around 75-80dB.
