  1. Well I bought the Chorus's and set them up as fronts and am using the Forte II's as rears. I didn't realize how much larger the Chorus's are compared to the Forte's. Big difference. After setting them up and listening to several vinyl MFSL albums in 5 channel stereo mode via a Denon AVR and Denon DP-47 turntable I am not all that impressed. The Chorus's are strong as a 2 channel stereo setup however. More tweeking is definitely required. Tomorrow I will set the system up properly with a sound meter and try a few DVD's to see how things end up. For those who were curious the room size is about 23' by 14'
  2. Greetings, I was thinking of matching a set Chorus' with my Forte II's for my home theater. It seems like a good match. The HF crossovers match at 7000hz and MF crossovers at 650Hz. Has anyone tried this combination? What are your thoughts? Thanks Johnny O
  3. Thanks for correcting me. Occasionally there are some decent deals that sometimes come up. I just missed a pair of Forte's for $225 that sold in a local classifed this week. The classified broke on the 29th yet the seller sold them on the 28th. I missed the boat on that one. I'd like a second set of forte's to match my fronts. I am running RS3's as rears... STILL looking for that elusive Academy
  4. The Academy is a pretty tough cookie to find. Occasionally they'll pop up on Ebay. Use every resource available (internet, phonebook, the Recycler,etc..) and with patience I'm certain that you will eventually find one. Expect to pay $400+ for it. There are probably at least 10 buyers for every advertised Academy.
  5. Hmmm... Your post seems unclear. Are you looking to buy an Academy center or are you selling an Academy center?
  6. An ad was posted in the LA Times Classifieds. It read "Klipsch Speakers and Corner horns" so I called it looking for an Academy... This guy is moving and wants to sell his stuff. Didn't have what I needed but maybe some one needs what he has. His name is Jim and his number is (949)322-7332 Sincerely, Johnny O
  7. Greetings, FYI, Good-Guys has an anniversary sale that features: RC3II for $174.99 each. RS3II for $274.99 a pair and RB3's for $324.99 a pair. Limited to stock on hand... Johnny O
  8. Thanks for the heads up... I've seen the one on Ebay. It shows an indentation in the center of one of the cones. The seller says that this doesn't affect play because this is just a dust cap. What are Klipsch forum readers opinions on that? Don't worry they are just dust caps or wait for a better speaker to become available?
  9. Ah, I realized I missed the boat on that last Academy when I spent several hours sorting through all these posts. If someone has another Academy out there I may be able to throw in my KG 2.2 center to help sweeten the deal. I am very grateful for this forum. Through it I learned that Radio Shack (Rat Shack) had discontinued those analog sound meters. I was able to search and find 3 of those. Also my ProMedia 5.1 PC speaker system took a dive and through this post I learned that Klipsch was replacing them with the Ultra's. RecentIy I received a new set of Ultra's for my pc. Way cool for gaming.
  10. Greetings Everybody, I am running my home theater with Forte II fronts, RS rears, an Infinity SWS-10 sub and a KG 2.2V center. The center occasionally sounds muffled during movies. I've calibrated the system with an analogue meter and downfired the center toward our listening position. I'm still not 100% satisfied. I was thinking of upgrading the center to an RC-35 but the post here seem to discourage it. It seems that the Academy center is the speaker most recommended and compatible. So...Does anyone have an Academy for sale? Or if someone has a better center solution, I am receptive to your advice. Sincerely, Johnny O Listening environment: 14' x 24' Living room with hardwood floors, no rugs.
