    RF-35 Upgrade

Well it looks like I need to start shopping for a sub. Some of you have mentioned the RSW15 and RSW12 does anyone know how this compares to the SVS line of subs?
  2. I was just looking for an opinion on an upgrade. My current system is a Harman Kardon AVR7200 powering a pair of RF35's, an RC35, and RB35's in the rear and no sub. Would it be a vast improvement upgrading to RF7's and an RC7 long with RB75's? Should I even consider upgrade my speakers or should I just buy a sub i.e. SVS? Any opinions????
  3. I was just passing some info along I noticed that Best Buy has all their Klipsch speakers 25% off with free shipping. This is for online purchases only so no reference speakers but if you are looking for the Synergy line it seems like a good deal. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat03042&type=category&navLevel=4&navHistory=cat00000%2Bcat03000%2Bcat03030

    MSRP???

Hey thanks thats just what I was looking for....

    MSRP???

I am wanting to buy a pair of RB-35's for my back surrounds and I was wondering if somone could tell me the MSRP for these speakers or where to go to get it. I have no local dealer to ask.....
  6. I have a quick question regarding my AVR7200 and its volume levels. How come every surround mode has a different MAX volume level? Also what is there such a difference in the volume levels between the various modes (i.e. DTS is louder than Dolby) when the voulme level doesnt change on the unit (i.e. -25 is louder in DTS than it is in the Dolby mode). Sorry I am a total newbie at all of this but we must start somewhere. Thanks for the help.....
  7. Does anyone who owns these speakers biamp them. I am not talking about biwiring but by amping. I was going to try the following using my RF-35's and my AVR7200: 1. Use RCA cables to connect the main L/R pre-outs to an unused input 2. Go into the Multi-Room menu and set Multi-Room to ON 3. Set the Multi-Room source (MULTI IN) to the source you connected the L/R pre-outs to 4. Go to the Advanced menu and set the SB AMPS to MR SP (Multi-Room Speakers) 5. Connect the main L/R amp terminals to the High Freqency inputs on your speakers, and the Surround Back amp terminals to the Low Frequency inputs (and remember to remove the jumper straps!) Then I read in the RF-35's manual that biamping is not recommended on any Klipsch speaker. So nobody biamps their mains here?
  8. That is pretty much what I figured. It seems like a pretty small sub to go along with my setup. I guess I am going to need some serious power to achive what I want. I better start saving for a serious sub (SVS or RSW) thanks for the help all...
  9. I will try moving it out from behind the couch. I really havent had that much time to play with it. I have tried setting the RF-35's to small and it made a little difference. I will change the crossover setting to 80Hz on them as well. Thanks for the help..... I cant wait for my SVS everyone has nothing but good things to say about them.....
  10. I have a quick question regarding my current setup. My setup is as follows. Harmon Kardon AVR 7200 Kilpsch RC-35 Klipsch RF-35 Fronts Cheap RCA Surrounds (saving for RS-35's) Now here is my question. I borrowed a subwoofer from my dad who runs a BOSE system. No its not the BOSE sub. BTW he loves my Klipsch setup and now dislikes his BOSE. Anyway he also runs a Velodyne VA810 subwoofer which is what I borrowed. Well I plugged it in and changed my speaker setup to add the sub and it absolulty makes no difference. I have it placed behind the couch and I know it is working becuase the speaker is moving I even turned the gain up to "10" on it my dad runs it at "5". I think that the bass output from my RF-35's is overpowering the sub..... The stats on the sub are not that impressive here they are: Freq Resp. 35Hz-200Hz +/- 3db Woofer 8" forward firing Magnet 55 Oz Voice Coil 2" Passive Radiator 10" downward firing Amp Class A/B 100 watts, 250 watts peak So is the problem the sub being overpowered by the RF-35's??? I plan on buying an SVS PB2-ISD or a PB2-Plus. Will I have the same problem then????
  11. Yes it is..... I can take a few other pics with ts ob light on if you would like...
  12. Thanks for the compliments its always nice to know that other people like your equipment!!! I dont have a sub right now but that is next on the list as well as some RS-35's or RB-35's. I am running digital cables fromth DVD to the receiver. I do need to check the polarity to the speakers with my AVIA disc. Thanks for the help....
  13. Well here it is just got to work out a few bugs, get surrounds and an SVS sub!!!! As far as the bugs please see my other post here..... http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=47626&sessionID={C3AE22E2-21F5-4004-BE3F-5EFBA1C77C83}
  14. I did move them away from the wall and this did help. Also I set them to large and then turned off the surrounds (I have some cheap RCAs) and turnd off the sub in speaker setup ad it helped some more. I may duble check my connections just to be sure that is setup right. I guess I need to get some surrounds (RS-35's or RB-35's) and an SVS sub if I want to get serious.... I am also looking atgetting a brickwall surge protecter. Those should sure help. The RF-35's will probably sound better the more I use them.....
  15. I just got my Klipsch RF-35's to go along with my RC-35 center. I have these speakers paired up to a HK AVR7200. I hooked them up and I wasnt too impressed with the sound. I am not blaming the equipment but I think it may be the room itself. The center speaker is on top of the TV and the couch is about 8 feet away. This puts the RF-35's about the same distance. Behind the couch is the fireplace on the wall and its probably 4 feet from the couch. The sound seems to be muddy I guess and not much bass. All in all it just sounds sloppy. I know I havent had much time to play with it yet but I thought I would sound better than it did. The TV is in a corner of the room at an angle and the RF-35's are beside it between the couch and the TV is a coffee table which are all at the same angle as the TV. The room itself is probably 14X17. Does distance play are part in how the speakers will sound? Should I have them away from the wall for the port on the back to work??? I have the RF-35's setup as Large and the center set as small. Is there something I am missing?? I have tried to attach a pic of the room but have no program here at work to do so with. I will attach one when I get home. Please help me out guys....
  16. Thanks for the help guys! m00n I was hoping you would respond because I knew that you had the same receiver that I do. Thanks for your input. If I dont need to keep all the lenghts the same that will save me some money on the cable. I cant wait for Monday.....I dont say that too often..LOL
  17. The lenght of my runs for the front stage is only 16ft. But when I add the surrounds I would like to keep all the lenghts the same so I will have to incrase it to about 30ft or so..... So there is not a problem running the 12ga wire even thought the manual states 14ga.....
  18. My setup is as follows. An HK AVR7200 that will be powering an RC35,RF35's and RS/RB35's for surrounds. The manual for my 7200 says to use 14 gauge wire or smaller for the speaker wire runs. I have read that a lot of people use and suggest 12 gauge wire. I expect delivery of my speakers Monday (I already hace the RC35) and I am wondering if the 12 gauge speaker wire I bought is ok to use. Will it make a difference in sound quality if I were to switch for 12ga to 14ga if it was the same cable and the same length??? Man what confusion....
  19. No one has an opinion on this???
  20. Please help me out on my frist post. I have noticed that some people prefer to use RB-35's instead of RS-35's what would be the advantage to doing this. I will be using my system for both movies and music. I have an HK AVR 7200 with an RC35 and RF35 fronts. I dont have a subwoofer yet but do plan on getting one. I just need a little help with ths descision. Thanks guys
