  1. I dont know if I can give you much of a review but I have had my SVS PB12 Plus/2 for about 2 ours and the thing so far is AMAZING! I didnt have a sub before and man does it sure make things sound different. I havent even began to push it hard and it is shaking the whole house. Now I need to go back and watch all of my movies again. I got the piano gloss black finish and it is beautiful and it was on sale due to overstock for 1299..... cant be it....Let me know if you have any questions I can help you with good luck in making a decision. Also you can email SVS and tell them your room dimensions and how loud you listen to movies and the will recommend a model to you....
  2. My new home will be completed soon along with my new HT room. I need to upgrade my current receiver an HK AVR7200 so I can get HDMI switching. I am currently running RF-35s, RC-35, and RS-35s. My room is prewired for 7.1 and I will probably upgrade my speaker to the new RF-83s, RC-64, RS-62s, and RB-81s for the rear surrounds as well as an SVS PB12-Plus/2 for a sub. The room measures 18(L) 196 (W) and 14 (H). I was thinking of getting an Anthem AVM50 and pairing it with a Sunfire TGP7200 or TGP7400. Would this make a good pairing for the new Reference line of speakers? Is anyone currently using this Pre/Pro and Amp? Obviously this setup will pack more punch and with the video scaler in the AVM50 it should help make all of my video much more impressive as well again the main thing I need is HDMI switching I have looked at Outlaw and Rotel by they seem to only offer DVI switching.Any opinions?
  3. With so choices out there it is hard to make a decision. I have seen some Outlaw components used as well as B&K, Lexicon, and Rotel. I have also ran across some of the Aragon stuff a Stage One and the 2007 amp is anyone filimar with these?
  4. The room has not been completed yet. For all I know my current equipment may sound a lot better in the new environment. It doesnt sound bad now. I was looking to upgrade just because the area that I am trying to fill with the sound is going to be alot larger. Also, I will be upgrading my current RF-35 setup to the new flagship line so I was looking for some more power since I know that Klipsch recommends that the RF-7 line have 200 watts. Do you happen to have a prefernece on what amps I should be looking for? I like the way the HK sounds with the RF-35's being that I am in a small town and I am about 120 miles for a city that would have dealers to audition the equipment in I was looking for a short list for when I do happen to make the trip to listen.
  5. Another alternitive is to use my HK AVR7200 and use the pre outs on it and use a 5 channel amp. Has anyone used the pre outs on the 7200. I thought about and Earthquake Cinenova....
  6. The Outlaw combo seems like its price right. I can get the 990 processor and the 7700 amp for $3300. Would this be a big improvment over my current HK AVR 7200?
  7. I have attached a picof the room. It is not perfectly square and I was wrong on the measurements as well.....
  8. I am looking to upgrade my HK AVR7200 (if its worthwhile). I was thinking of getting a good Pre/Pro setup since I am moving into a new home after it is completed with an HT room. The room measures 19X19 with a 14' tray ceiling. I am also upgrading my speakers to the new Ref flagships and an SVS PB-12 Plus/2. I have looked at the new Sunfire stuff online but it sure seems a bit pricey. I would estimate my budget to be about 3K for the Pre/Pro setup. I welcome all of your comments.
  9. Well I am calling on all the experts here to help me with my proposed HT room in the new house (see attached). My current setup is RF-35 mains, RC-35 center and a HK AVR7200 receiver. I am wanting to use my RF-35's as surrounds and my RC-35 as the sixth channel. I want to upgrade my mains to RF-7's and a RC-7 center and the buy an SVS sub giving me a 6.1 setup. But from the looks of my room this isnt going to happen without having one speaker blocked by the wet bar. From what I can figure my only options are bookshelf speakers for the surrounds or the RS line. I will be using the room for entertaining and movie watching. Do I have any other options? Will I miss the BIG sound of the RF-7's by going with RB-75's? Could I still use my exsisting speakers? Lots of questions to answer before buying any new equipment.
  10. Thanks for the help and the compliments. I do plan on checking EVERY builder in my town and seeing what the have built before I settle on one. As for the evelation drawings I have attached them for your viewing pleasure...... The two cars garages are needed. I have 2 trucks, 2 cars, 2 ATVS, and 1 streetbike, and 1 racebike... I need alot of space for them.... Elev.pdf
  11. Sorry to hear that but now you got my worried. Is there any advice you can give me so I know what to look out for?
  12. I am not personally building it. There is no way I would attempt that myself....otherwise no this is my first home building experience....is there something I should know?
  13. Looks like I need to get to reading...
  14. Thanks for the explanation and the help. No I dont currently own the sub. I have just always heard good things about the SVS brand so thats what I was leaning towards. Those specs you listed for the Infinite Baffle sound great.....I am going to google it and have a look [H]
  15. LOL.... I guess I am a newbie I have no idea what any of that means. What do the numbers on the bottom represent?
  16. I will have to ask the fiance about moving that wall and of course the architect...LOL The wall that commons the garage has shelves built in the corners I guess I could eliminate those and put the mains (RF-7's) in those corners.....
  17. Yeah I forgot to post it you beat me to it.....the celings are 14' tray.... Yes the french doors are going to be behind me. I hadnt thought of the remote screen idea. I will look into it...
  18. Well I got my Prelim floorplans done and the should be finalized in about 4 weeks or so than its time to break ground. Just wanted to get and input from all of you on it. I am planning on using the "Family Room" as am theater\enterainment room. The whole house measures 3113 sq ft with the family room measures approx 18'Wide by 19.5' Deep. I plan on putting blackout blinds on the French doors that exit to the patio and the window. I want to put in a projector with an approx 110" screen and have the screen on the wall that commons the garage. I will be using my Harman Kardon AVR7200 and a pair of Kilpsch RF-7's and an RC-7 up front and my exsisting RF-35's and RC-35 for the rear soundstage and an SVS subwoofer. So anyways please let me know what you guys think either positive or negative with either my setup or the whole plan.....oh and BTW I havenet figured out seating yet... Floorplan.pdf

    RF-7 Prices

What would be a decent price for a pair of RF-7's in black from a brick and morter store? I may also be picking up an RC-7 at the same time. I have heard the some stores will work with you on the price and I have no idea what a good price would be....
  20. I currently have a pair of RF-35's and a RC-35 for my front sound stage. I think I want to upgrade to RF-7's and an RC-7 for the fronts and move my RF-35 setup to the rear. Has anyone tried this? How would the RF-35's perform in surround duty? Thoughts?
  21. Ok I have been following this topic as well and I have a question. I understand the 2.8 or 2.6 volts is one watt. So I got out my VOM and I used the AVIA DVD and just turned on pink noise to the left front channel and turned my reciever(HK AVR7200) up until 2.8 volts were read on the VOM. I then looked at my SPL meter and it was between 97-99 from 3ft or 1m which is within spec of my RF-35's. My question is this I had to turn up my reciever about three quarters of the way up to get 1 watt but my amplfier is rated at 110X7 channels. So why would it put out only 1 watt or 2.83 volts at 3/4 of the volume. Obvisouly the reciver isnt going to put out 308 volts (110watts X 2.8V)so are they using different scales whay not use the same scale for both or maybe these are totally different ratings? Why not just say my HK AVR7200 is rated at 1.5 watts max instaed of 110? Just looking to understand how this all works....

They are in no particular order. 1. Heart - Alive in Seattle 2. Pretenders - Loose in L.A 3. Godsmack - (Just recently released) ---------------- That Pretenders - Loose in L.A. is a good DVD I love the DTS track. Its also kind of funny that I was actually at that concert with my fiancée... Another that I like is the Queen Greatest Video Hit 1 although not concert footage its DTS track is phenomenal..
  23. You mean to tell me that no one here has an Aragon Stage One/2700 and RF-7 setup? Some has to have it???? If so I would love to hear the results of the pairing....Anyone?
  24. Thats funny that you guys have mentioned upgradeing my reciever to seperates. I have been recently looking the Aragon line. I think maybe I will upgrade the front stage and go from there. But I am really liking the 2007 and the Stage one processor in black just wish I had a place to listen to them here. Oh its only money......
  25. Well I am just doing some random thinking and as the say once you get the upgrade bug your hooked. Anyway I currently have a pair of RF-35's, and RC-35 for the front stage and I was thinking how would a system sound if I were to my the RF-35's and the RC-35 to the rear for surround sound duty and upgrade the front stage to a pair of RF-7's and an RC-7 center. So the spearkers would be arranged (FR)RF-7, (Center)RC-7, (FL)RF-7, (RR)RF-35, (R. Center)RC-35, (LR)RF-35. I think that would make a pretty decent 6.1 setup. It would all be powered by an HK AVR7200. Any thoughts?
