Anyone interested in a Sony TA E9000ES (
) that has the dim display problem noted in the provided link or a Teac X2000R that has take up reel issues (
). Adoption is free if you pay the shipping (heavy!) or pick up in the Atlanta area. Sony quote to repair pre/pro is:

    Model Number: TAE9000ES

    Purchase Date: 01/08/1999

    Warranty Status: Out of Warranty

Repair Service Cost: $216.00 (plus any applicable tax)

    Repair Service Information:

The cost to repair this unit under our Flat Rate Program is $216.00, (plus any applicable taxes). Return shipping is included in this price.

Based upon the information you entered, your unit appears to qualify for the Flat Rate pricing quoted above. Flat Rate pricing does not apply to non-consumer products, units requiring replacement of the display device (such as: projection and TV picture tubes, optical blocks, plasma and LCD panels), any condition resulting from physical abuse, misuse, or excessive wear, units older than seven (7) years from last market date or damage resulting from prior service. If, upon examination, it is determined that your unit does not qualify for Flat Rate pricing, then a parts and/or labor repair quote will be given to you.

I had a TAE 9000ES for a bit. Hated it, the remote ate power like mad. The unit had tons of processing features, but sounded like crap IMHO. Sold it on ebay.

I have just agreed to take delivery of these for rick till he can arrange to get them home,so It appears to be a done deal.

Sounds good. I just spoke to Colterphoto. He was concerned that the deal would not go to a forum member. Rick was 2nd in line and Michael had wanted to return a favor to him. That being said looks like they are heading your way Rick.

Now, lets talk scallas. I will buy yours if no one else is in front of me.

IMO, don't bother with the low-end Jolidas. They don't come close to the sound of a NOSValves restored Scott 299 or 222 series.

I'm sure someone around here has a rebuilt Scott for sale. The 299b was my first tube amp and I'll never get rid of it. It just sounds too good.

I agree Gary. A refreshed upper grade set up is a better route to travel. Not only does the sound of the Jolida's lack in compairison, I don't think that i could stand the poor track record of the Jolidas quality. IMHO

Uhhhhhh, wrong guy wrong forum. I prefer a crap box old tt spining good vinyl, as compaired with a high end digital set up. But thats just me I love turntables about as much as CP1 loves corns.

  5. Will do Rick.

As soon as hear from CP1 I will let you know. Also guys, I am in Appleton, WI but am from Chiaco area. Still have family there and would most likely be able to meet in the chicago area.

Royster, It's too bad that you need,or want to sell them. But is nice to see them here first. They should make somebody happy. Can't beat the price! Good Luck! Larry

Thanks, thats how the board is supposed to work. I don't have to sell them, nor really want to. But they are just sitting here, thats no way for these types of speakers to used. maybe another forum member would use them.
