  1. I believe it may be a vinyl finish yes, but I will say it looks as good as my Rf7's so It does not really make any difference as for price, well bottom line is that it is 700.00 so What would you pay.. Used the Black go for about 450.00 + shipping so make an offer. thanks
  2. This sub is back ordered in Cherry for like the next 10 years or something, but I have 2 of them I do not need 2 of them, but Had to take the second one because I had a 700.00 credit at a local dealer and they have nothing I need so I took it being an item that would absorb the remaining credit and possibly be easy to Sell. I guess the sub is very Hot right now, and most dealers only have some in Black, but this was the last one in cherry and my dealer is on the build list for more but will not get for months. I need nothing for trade, but my friend has a surround system of the Synergy series and would like to find a SC3 Center channel, and possible 12 Sub of that series to match up. If not then I will take Resonable offers to sell and ship, but even more easily if you are in the Chicago area we could work something even better. Again BRAND new Tape never even cut open. Thanks Please Email to undertow@inorbit.com for any response or offers. I do not get on the board all the time so safe bet is email I check it 10 times a day. Also, if you would like to pay with paypal I will Take payments to this address if we work something out.
  3. For Sale or Trade, Klipsch RW-12 Brand new unopened in Cherry!! 4. PIC , Thanks for looking. Hmm, maybe I am not thinking and should have put these in the multichannel room for those guys? The 2 channel vinyl guys are probably laughing at this, oh well.
  5. Hello, My SACD Universal just died, and I love the sound on these discs but I only have 4 of them and not much Else I am interested in buying from these formats to be honest, So I am putting all my money into a Hi-end Transport from Wadia and have no use for these discs... They are all basically brand new, no scratchs, no hairlines, no fingerprints... Hell even the cases are like brand spanking new... The original price on these were about 18 after tax from best buy... I would like 35.00 and I will ship All 4 within the 48 states.. payment thru paypal, so I am not making anything on these after the paypal fee and Shipping, and do not feel like screwing around with ebay to be honest..Original for these 4 would be about 70.00 and about 65 online with shipping... thanks by the way they are NOT hybrids or I would keep them, so you do need an Sacd, DVD-A player, however the DVD-A will play on your standard DVD player as well and be in true surround Using dolby digital instead. So you just need an SACD player. See pic below BECK - SEA CHANGE (SACD 2 channel & Multichannel) PETER GABRIEL - Shakeing the Tree(best of album) (SACD 2 Channel) Stone temple pilots - Core (DVD-A Multi or 2) Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic (SACD 2 Channel & Multichannel)
  6. mbajner, The anthem stuff does work great for Electronics we can Buy in 2005 Mated with Klipsh!! That MCA50 should be excellent and I am sure not to expensive.. and sorry to offend anyone here but the 7's are 2005 as well and, No not everything is like it was back in 1980 or anywhere near as cheap... so I think that the Answers of Throw a H/K 430 or tubes, whatever does turn some people off and just as this guy did Give up and return the speakers... But I think the 7's in general need that British or Darker sounding equipment up the chain to back them if you are standing in the middle of a modern Store buying in 2005, and ears are ears, so I will tell you that in the store the 7's sounded very excited with no substantial bass, hooked up to your basic HT 7.1 stuff and I still took them home Knowing there was more speaker than meets the eye and had to have some serious potential, especially when you can't get dual 10's and the Efficiency with Live sound today for 2000.00 in general unless you go the way of Klipsch... K-horns are great possibly my favorite, they had those set up at the store as well when I took the dive, but I was never going to drop 7,000 on them so beware you need to really do a little groundwork if you want Audiophile type sound with something as the floorstander RF7's. This was my experiance and others may find a different approch, but I went thru 2 2005 RECEIVERS, Denon 3805 and Onkyo(something), A forte Amplifier and several combos of preamps in 3 weeks to arrive at the Correct control and sound not piercing on some types of music, but it cost Money and I had to purchase an amps that cost the Same amount as the 1800.00 I spent on the speakers to be fully satisfied with the purchase in the end. I also found if you have a speaker with the potential of the 7's to keep them as a nice seperate solid 2 channel system and it just works better to get that performance for music vs. intergrating them into a costly 7.1 system.. I now have the 5.1 system seperated and the 7's for more serious listening. I love it much more and of course space and cost permitting not everyone has that ultimate 2 channel seperate of the HT these days, but well worth it if nothing else is working and you are serious about it. And I can't believe that you do not get a 30 day return policy from any STORE.. No wonder these guys are struggling and people are now ordering per the internet. MINUS of course a special order, I can understand that.
  7. The heritage stuff is much more forgiving than the 7's, that is immediate impression I get when I hear them in comparison, but the RF3's are much more forgiving than the 7's as well, but mentioned in a post above possible due to the fact the 3's are 98db and the 7's are 102db.... Keep fighting to make the 7's work, they are worth it, but unfortunatly can cause you some pain and suffering with the check book to get there, or a lot of time searching for the vintage pieces to mate to them.
  8. Ha, you guys are pretty funny ... That was just to prove the High current stuff Vs. 10amps out of a Receiver is by far more Smooth with bigger drive speakers regardless of Efficiency and to what some like to Term "Overkill", the horns smooth out considerably and the Bass becomes much more slammy without the upper end Whammy, Hey its all about synergy so Pick away at my comments, and Trust me The literature of High current being better was not my point, And for those who are asking I have Odyssey Khartago Monos, 100+ amps current each, 60,000 Mf, 160 watt, and they sound the best I have heard yet with these speakers, very controlled and Smooth as pink floyd when I saw them at soldiers field with no Harshness and can go loud with no loss in detail or increased forward midrange, voices do not sound so compressed, Kinda like when the people on this Board here there first pair of K-Horns and Believe, I simply with a very High build Quality amp found that type of Effect.... So I am not an engineer and did not claim , Just Put out and Let me phrase it again my Opinion with this setup. But also I added a Anthem Preamp which is DARK or warm sounding on other speakers and it was welcome in this case with the forward sound of the 7's.
  9. Well I now know the secrete to huge soundstage, no Fatique and the best vocals never getting out of control in your face, its Called SUPER HIGH CURRENT amp, I now run Over 100amps per channel peak on mono blocks, nothing to do with wattage, it could be 10 or 100watts and not be important for the output on the 7's they are plenty efficient to run on next to nothing, but the HIGH current is pheonaminal with the Horns, they have full control of the woofers and smooth the mids to liquid at Level Zero to Very rediculous volume without lossing the Finess.. just my opinion after going thru many trials and errors over the past few weeks with the 7's, However this of course being High current designs come at pretty high costs, but comprable to good tubes in cost. Oh and as mentioned an amp stable down to 2 OHM is almost a must to drag out the best of these speakers, but that should be automatic with higher end amps, mine are stable to 1/2 an Ohm so I could literally short the speaker wires together and never heat up or shut it down unless left for like 20 mins that way.
  10. Hes not saying you are wrong Trey just the situation of a high end piece haveing something so simple yet dangerous be known to happen and KEEP happening. But no biggie I'm back with the music now screw the technical stuff, I am much happier Knowing my speakers were screwed up since I bought them 2 weeks ago, and now Know dont trust the Visual or Touch test on drivers ever again.
  11. Anyhow, I hope I did not offend Klipsch they are a Stellar build and sounding speaker, but Common Guys MONSTER cable in there is the Marketing Hype, PUT SOME good SCREW down or SNAP in terminals to solve this absolutly Rediculous problem for a 2,000 plus set of speakers... Not asking much, and it is yes a simple problem.. WE found that the Lower woof just Completly fell off, The little tabs were just not Bent down at all and would never have interferance fit enough to stay connected. I am not so mad about the speaker as how the Short of the two terminals together was Hammering my amps without knowing. They would touch and kill the system, Does the Klipsch 5 year Warranty 4000.00 & 5000.00 MONO blocks along with this?
  12. Well guys a couple weeks back I was looking to fix a bass problem with the RF7s, in turn which was also seeming to make them Bright So I started the Bi-amp thread and found it too not be the answer and to get an EQ... Well, to make this a very simple story, I have Changed amps, Changed wires, changed everything but the Kitchen Sink... The Whole time, It was not THE ROOM, NOT THE electronics, THE SPEAKERS!! the Crossover would TURN on and OFF, CRACKLE and POP everytime I touched that WIRE harness!!! But the bottom would never COME on but FELT like it was driveing due to the Upper one making it move..
