  1. I dug out the Tull, an Alan Parsons Project, several original Beetle LPs, (Susan’s), a Grand Funk Railroad, a couple Zeplins, Cream, Chicago, BS&T, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Janis Joplin, the Doors, the Kinks, Johnny Rivers and several others. I must have got them back in 69 or 70 when I bought my Sansui 1000X, Fisher XP 66Bs, (couldn’t afford Klipsch) and Garrard TT. I recall a hippie record guy buying about 50 LPs at a rummage sale we had back in the mid 80s. I know I had some Byrds, Vanilla Fudge, Deep Purple, Ten Years After, The Who, Steppenwolf and others.

Bummer!..........I'm missin the Johnny Rivers and Fudge

    Enjoy

  2. Not sure of this, but remember reading that the 12au7s have more a impact then 12ax7s if only upgrading a pair at a time? I don't know. I'm sure I'll not pass on either when opportunity comes. Be it ax or au, IMHO, both would be a improvement over the JJs (not to take anything from the stock tubes, they are nice).

Source......... Took the chance on epay, only after communications w/ the seller, bid my max and let it go, TADA! When they arrived, all was as he emailed me. Still, untill they got here I was on edge. This because of other threads about fake NOS 6DJ8 / ECC88.

    Did me right!

    Its all about communacations!

    Enjoy

  3. Three hours ago, a knock at the door, signed for a package from the Nederlands. Inside a Quad of Amperex Bugle Boys ECC88s opened up the pre and pulled the Yugoslavian 6DJ8s, dropped in the BBs and fired everything up and WOW!!!! Been playing sence. Right now Tull, TAAB. Digs deeper into the woofers, really crisp, clean and above all dead quite. Mids and tweats way more defined, super clear. I think I'll keep them, can't beleive it took 12 years to do it. Next the VRD!

    Enjoy!

  4. Yup!.... about 6-7 years... right up untill it died... ran it with a tube pre on the corns. G.A.S. made some pretty good iron back then. In their PREs a really nice phono stage. If my thinking is correct I paid 785 for it in "76". Not bad for old SS gear.

    Enjoy!

  5. Really like the country around the ciy (fishen wize). This far north its all good. As the crow flies, I'm bout 85 miles south, on the other side where the water flows to the Mississippi. Its ethier Up Hill or Down Hill. Depends which way your facing.

    Enjoy!
