  1. Thanks Frzninvt. I got the Bose from my father today. They turned out to be 201s not 301s, but you were dead on with your analysis of how they'd sound. I'm gonna start hunting for a set of KG2s on ebay (there's a number of them on there now). Now, on to speaker placement, I'll have to start another thread. Thanks again.
  2. Klipsch Pundits, I have two questions for you today. 1.) Based on recommendations from these forums, I've acquired a KV3 center channel to go with my KG4 fronts. Now it's time for the rears. In my previous posts, I was recommended KG2s to complete my set-up. What's a good price for these? The $140 for one auction ebay seems way high. 2.) Instead of buying KG2s my father has offered me his older BOSE 301s to use as my rears. Before I drive my butt over there to get them, how is this going to sound mixed in with Klispchs? Is the 301 a decent speaker? Thanks all, LarsenMTL
  3. Thanks wheelman. I emailed the seller and he replied in under 15 mins with very thoughtful response. Must be a internet junkie too.
  4. Anyone looking to unload one? Thanks, LarsenMTL
  5. Does anyone have experience doing business off of www.videogon.com in their ForSale section? I'm currently looking at a KV3 listed on there but I'm wary of doing business off a google hit. Thanks
  6. Richard, Thanks. Yea, I saw the two auctions for the KG2s. In one auction, a speaker is all busted up - bad tweeter and in the other the reserve is set at $400 (WTF?). There is a nice set of 2.5s though, so I'm curious if anyone out there has experience matching these of KG4s? I'm so bad at waiting when I decide I want something. LarsenMTL
  7. Thanks for the replys. I didn't even think to search the forum for similar questions, what a load of information on here. I'm gonna hunt for a KV3. Another question: I've heard that Yamaha's receivers and Klipsch speakers don't mix. Something about both there sounds being too bright. Any truth in this? Thanks again.
  8. Klispch Gods, Background: I'm currently replacing a tired and crappy Technics home theater (worst purchase ever). I just picked up a Yamaha RXV640 receiver and aquired on permenant loan a set up Klipsch KG4s from my brother-in-law. Questions: 1.) Is it feasible to build my home theater around the KG4s or are they too old? They sound beautiful to this novice and I was most surprised to still see them going for good money on ebay. 2.) If I make a go of it, can you recommend me a good center channel that fits in nicely (this is the one that needs replacing the most)? 3.) While you are at it, what about some rears? You know, just in case my wife wants me to spend more money. I'm primarily interested in movie viewing and television before music. Also, I'm doing this on a budget (I've got a baby on the way in two months) so please keep that in mind. Thanks, LarsenMTL
