  1. Congrates on the purchase, had a play with mine today, boy are these speakers tight out of the box, be prepared for nothing but high frequency. Theres vertually no mid-bass to speak of. I let the rf5's run over night with some low hz music at a moderate volume and it is a night and day difference when i fired them up today. Look forward to hearing them with 100hrs or so on them.
  2. I will have some rf5's arriving soon which i will be running off a rxv2400. I haven't auditioned this setup so its a bit of a gamble. Anyone here using this receiver with ref speakers that can comment on its pro/cons on personal experience? thanks.

I have had the RC-3ii (not rc-35) and the RC-7, and the RC-7 is not three time better but many, many times the center the RC-35 is. Also the 8" horn is much more "flowing and open" than the 6" horn. Have fun! ---------------- I have to agree with you on the point about the centre; it also was a contributing factor on why I went to the rf5's. I asked the rep to throw in "Black Hawk Down" in the DVD player and I was specifically testing the centre as it has a considerable amount of info sent to the centre. (Dialog and explosions) IMO it was struggling somewhat at high db's, so that pushed me to go for the RC-7.
  4. Well its a done deal, in the end after contacting the all the Brisbane klipsch dealers (stereo supplies, encel) there is a back order of six to eight weeks on rf35's. So i decided to upgrade to the rf5 and rc7 with rs35 surrounds as they were in stock and i wasn't prepared to wait. I am assuming that they will be an improvement over the r35 main and centre whether it is small or large. I did purchase them without actually auditioning them so it's a strange feeling handing over the deposit for something unseen. I know the tweeter is different in the rf5 and rc7 speakers, will i still have seamless panning from left to right or could there be a distict separation?

You are more than welcome to come and have a listen ---------------- Thanks for the offer but i am pretty much leaning towards the rf35 setup and i think if i were to listen to your setup i would end going back to the minister for finance and upgrading to rf7's I take it you would have purchased through Aaron from P&K hifi?

If you want RC 7 then go for the RF 5 or RF 7 but if you want to save a few $$$ (like $2000+ if you are in australia) get the RF 35 and the RC35/ RC25 you wont be dissapointed. By the way are you aussie ?? I'm from melbourne and where are you planning to buy your system? RRP Australia Rf 7 $ 4599 Rf 5 $ 3099 Rf 35 $ 2099 RC 7 $ 1649 RC 35 $ 849 RC 25 $ 599 ---------------- Hi, yes i'm from Brisbane and there are a couple of Dealers here but they don't carry anything above rf35's. Wouldn't the rs35 be a better surround match to the rf35 setup? Although the dealer recommends the rs25 as he thinks there is little difference between the two, strange that the rs25 freq response is slightly lower than the larger rs35. But 75att rms is alot lower than the rs35 spec. Also, you have quoted retail prices, there would be some movement as far as discounts i would of thought. By the way nice setup in your sig.
  7. Thanks for the replies guys, Do the rf35 have the same tweeter to the rf5? Reason i ask is if they do i was thinking of going with the larger rc7 centre channel in my setup, otherwise i will stay with the rc35. The receiver i am using is the yamaha 2400 which i may possibly add a small preamp to add some stable current to the setup. I read that the rc35's are rated at 125watt rms, is this fairly accurate or can they handle a little more power? If the main difference between the two is real wood than i will stay with the rf35's, if someone could answer the query about the tweeters it would be appreciated.
  8. Hi there peoples, it is a great little forum you have here. I have been auditioning speakers for my ht for quite a few months now and have been left a little frustrated with what I have so far experienced, that is until I had a listen to some RF35 mains. Wow, what a breath of fresh air it has been to actually hear the song/music and forget that you are trialing speakers. Ok, the problem I have is that my local Klipsch dealers only stock up to RF35 mains and I would like some input on whether there is a significant improvement in two channel listening with the RF5 mains over the RF35 mains as it looks like I will not be able to audition the RF5 and RC-7 in person? thanks.
