  1. Hi Smilin, Try switching the output tubes in the amps and if the buzzing sound moves with the tubes from one amp to the other it is the output tubes. If you still have the problem in the same channel again try reversing the driver tubes maybe. If the sound moves then you know it is one of the driver tubes that is bad. it is a process of elimination. If all stays the same it is not a tube problem but before thinking it is a cap try switching preamp tubes also if problem stays the same. Finally if all tubes come out ok then you should take it to a technician for checkup. sorry to hear about the diagnosis. Your on my prayer list, Bill
  2. The Churchills have that bring you into the music like very few others do. They really came alive once I moved them about 8 feet from the rear wall. Truly made them dissappear in a nearfield listening position. I can't recommend that enough for any speaker situation as it is a free tweak and cost absolutely nothing to try. It might get you into the doghouse with the little woman but once I moved those speakers outI could never go back. You really don't know what soundstage is until you get the depth. How is it possible with them a foot away from the rear wall? It ain't! Been a dual concentric speaker lover for a long time now.Tried a lot of different ones over the years from Altec 604b, 604C, Tannoy Silver 15's, Golds, but these Chuchills have been the best so far. 3. Cafe Paradiso by Steve Erquiaga was the hit of the 2004 Las Vegas HiFi show in the Eastern Electric room. Kent & Harry from 2 Bald Guys Audio had a wonderful collection of CD's to play and this was one of the Cd's they turned me on to. Just Excellent. Maybe do a google search and others will confirm this great Spanish/classical guitar masterful cd. It truly is a must to have and you will not be disappointed Later, Bill
  4. I can remember buying some Rosewood veneer for a pair of GRF professional cabinets that I had built and just the veneer to cover the 3/4 birch was over $600. Sure am happy I only paid $500 for my K's.
