  1. I'm an audiologist, I own my own practice in southern New Jersey.

Father of 13 year old twins, husband to a still-sexy woman.

I do photography as a serious hobby, but I refuse to go pro in spite of the urging of friends. I feel that the best way to ruin a hobby is to turn it into a job.

I also enjoy amassing and listening to rare music (bootlegs), especially since they're easy to grab for free off the internet in lossless formats. I also really dig listening to surround-sound SACD's and DVD-Audio, tho there's not many titles left I want to hear, and the format seems to be dying off. Sigh.

Oh man that sucks. I used to love R.E.M. in the 80s, gave them the benefit of the doubt in the 90's, but these last 5 to 6 years are proof that they've lost it. And to put out that lame greatest hits album last year seemed like such a sell out.

I never like U2 much but their new one sounds like it might be kind of good. Sure doesn't seem like R.E.M. have a good song left in them.

I have to agree...I loved them practically from the beginning, and saw them on every tour since Fables (1984?). But since Berry left, their passion seems to be gone too. Seems like they put the electric guitars in storage and only have mandolins laying around. This year's tour is the first I've missed, and not by accident.

The biggest waste is Mike Mills, he has such a great bass style. It's more like the left hand on the piano than it is traditional bass playing. He's the big talent in the group, and he's not being used.

REM still has good music in them, I just know it, and I think they need to rein in the Michael Stipe ego machine. Seems like he thinks his lyrics are so important that the music needs to be restrained so he can make his proound statements.

And yes, U2's new one is good.

    1) The "curse of the bambino" means they don't win the World series, (like when they were 1 strike away in 1986) not the penant. Ye gads man! Everyone knows that.

You stole my thunder, but you're exactly right. All these news outlets saying that the curse has been broken, they're just wrong.

Just for fun, I'd like to see the 'Stro's win their pennant, then have the Sox lose the series in a heartbreaker 6th or 7th game...and have Clemens factor in it somehow too. Keep the curse going!

WOW! That looks really really nice! I especially like the entertainment center and is that a fireplace i see on the other wall? Really nice!

Wow! I got a "wow!"1.gif Yes, that's a gas log fireplace, my camera simply isn't wide-angle enough to capture the whole room.

As far as the entertainment center goes, one reason why we selected it is that it is expandable. The two tall pieces on either side can be moved farther apart to accommodate a wide-screen TV. But I must wait for prices to drop on that item, I'm still using my "old-fashioned" 4:3 non-hi-def TV set. It's KILLING me that I'm not watching the ball games and my favorite shows on hi-def. 7.gif Someday!

    Thanks for the kind words.

  5. When I had my system installed - before I moved into my new house - a friend brought this over because all my DVD's were in storage.

Talk about a couple guys high-fiving over the new Klipschs! It totally "rawks."
