  1. I like the box look because it's more traditional, but I don't like the fact that it weighs 190 pounds.
  2. I know my situation may seem like nit-picking, but I can't decided which would be better... 2 SVS CS-Ultra cylinder subs connected to a single 1000 watts RMS amp, or one SVS PB12-Ultra/2? I know both of these subs employ the same TV-12 Ultra drivers, but I can't make up my mind as to which setup would yield the greatest output with the flattest frequency response. I would use the sub(s) almost exclusively for music. Both setups are nearly identical in price, and I know either one would sound amazing. Any advice?
  3. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but would this be a good amplifier or is it overkill for these speakers? What would be a good amp to go along a pair of RF-5 or RF-7's?
  4. CECAA850, you said in another post that you have both of these subs. How much better is the PB12 Plus/2 than the PC Ultra? I know the PC Ultra has a superior driver... does it really make a difference in quality of bass or is it just superior in terms of SPL output? Any comments by other experts here are very welcomed.
  5. Which of these two subs should I get? I know their performance is probably nearly identical but the CS-Ultra is $150 more and comes with an external amp. The PC-Ultra of course has a built in amp that employs BASH technology (if that matters at all), and is supposedly designed just for that sub. It also has a built in equalizer and looks like it has more features than the Samson S-1000 amp that comes with the CS-Ultra package. So which one, PC-Utra or CS-Ultra?
  6. What is the difference between a sealed subwoofer and a ported one? Ported subwoofers have better extension right? What exactly is extension?
  7. I am planning on buying a two-channel system that I will later expand to a 5.1 home theatre system. I want to start of with two RF-35 for fronts and the Dayton Titanic III 15" subwoofer kit for my sub. I need help in choosing a receiver though. I don't really like Sony and have been looking at some Yamaha. I'm looking to spend between $500 and $800 for a receiver. The most I will ever use is 6 channels (5.1) but I want at least 100 wpc and of course a low-distortion, clean as possible signal going to my speakers. I don't care much for the decoding abilities. I just want something that will give me plenty of good clean power. Thanks in advance.
  8. I'm probably going to go with the Titatinc 15" Kit. Should be fun to build a sub and save some money in the process. Also, I stated earlier that I would most likely choose the Synergy F-3 floorstanding speakers. Well, after some thought I can't decide if it would really be worth it to go with the RF-35 instead. They are of course Klipsch's reference line speakers and are only $100 more retail than the Synergy F-3. I know the F-3 have betters specs on paper, but the RF-35 are made with better quality components and are of course more prestigious and solid than the F-3. Should I just stick with the RF-35 and avoid any future "what if" or are the F-3 a better value?
  9. I think I'm going to go for the Titanic Kit.
  10. What sub should I buy? I'm looking in the $600 to $700 range. At first I was thinking of getting a Klipsch RW-12 but by looking around these forums I stumbled onto the 15" TITANIC MKIII SUBWOOFER KIT. Its only slightly more expensive than the RW-12 and it appears to be better performing. Also, I read that SVS has the best price/performance ratio for subwoofers. What sub should I buy? I'm probably going to buy the Klipsch Synergy F-3 floorstanding speakers as they seem to be sufficient for my needs and don't cost too much. Thanks for any help.
