Since I'm no good at this if you can't cheat...and thus I won't ever be able to get in on the other one...lol...
I'm sure you'll get this one quickly...should be easy...
"I was born with a ragin' thirst, A hunger to be free"
Name that tune!!

All right. I'm getting tired of not knowing this one.
Someone hurry up and guess it so I can not know the next one! []
-
Amy - I hear you on that one. I sure hope you wouldn't sell any
of those iGrooves in Tweeter, Now! Audio Video (they're now Tweeter,
but I added them anyways 'cause I don't know of that many high-end
audio stores []), Read Brothers (now I know about that one!!), Elite
Audio Video, etc. I agree that the product needs to be marketed
to the market it will appeal to, and in the most suitable marketplace
based on its purpose. However, my post was more about coming up
with a different name or logo or some such to distinguish between the
two lines of products so the public will more readily see Klipsch as
high end despite the multimedia stuff they make. I.E (and not a
very good example, but the best I can think of) Sony and Sony ES.
Two totally different lines. Well, not really...Sony is always
junk...Sony ES just usually is....[]
Maybe I'm trying to think of something more along the lines of Anthem and Sonic Frontiers.
Oh, and I knew you didn't really agree with me 100%! []

As for broadening the horizons with respect to where to sell Klipsch...
...I for one would not like to see Klipsch in places like Best Buy,
Circuit City, Target, Wal Mart, etc. Not because of what it does
to the company - it has absolutely no affect. However, I do
dislike it for the 'image' it presents to the public. If someone
sees Klipsch in stores like Target and Wal Mart, they're not going to
consider Klipsch a very high-end product/company. While that's
obviously not true, and a company's activity in the more affordable end
of things does not affect its ability to play around in the high-end,
it does affect the public's opinions and perception of the
company. I can see that with Polk Audio. Great
products. However, they're sold in Circuit City (the RTi series),
and so that 'dirties' their name in the public's opinion.
If a high-end company is going to dauble in the multimedia/portable
realm, I think the two areas should be very distincly separated, as if
two different companies, so the lower one will not affect the public
perception of the higher-end one.
Did that make any sense?

Tom Adams...did you see any gear there that wasn't listed on their
site? Just wanting to know so I can get a feel for what all they
have. I'm seriously contemplating a trip down there, though it
probably wouldn't be anytime soon.
So, does the wife own/run the fabric section of the store?
-
Man, I can attest to that! What a swell guy to know!!
Now, anyone know whom I'm talking about?
[]

Wow, nice setup, Craig. I can tell you put a lot of heart and
soul into. I hope that one day I'm financially secure enough to
be able to endulge in my main hobby as it seems you have: cars.
I'm not fond of Nitrous, and have only recently begun to be fond of
forced induction, but that's a great time on just the motor!
10.50 @ 134!! Wow!!
Glad to see you used a 454. I might could use your experience in
the future, assuming I can actually acquire this Camaro I mentioned
earlier. What do you think about turbocharging a 454? I've
heard some say the block's not strong enough to withstand it.
And, why in the world did you sell it?!?! (Or did you not and I'm
just assuming you did?) I would have bought it! I have a
$20 bill right here that I'd give for it! []
-
Nice little write-up on the store. It sure is good to hear that
there are actually a few (well, at least one) places that are still
interested in developing a relationship with, and serving, the
customer. Sounds like a great experience. I just might have
to stop in there sometime, as I'm not too far away.
-
Well phooey...I just don't know any of these!
-
Wow, lots of nice cars mentioned here, for sure! Right now my goal is
to own a 1968 or 1969 Camaro. A friend of my dad's (and mine) has a
black 1968 Camaro with a racing fuel cell, roll cage, racing radiator,
spark plug wires, mini-tubbed rear-end (or fully tubbed...I'm not
sure), and a 454 with 427 heads. I'm gonna own that beast one day!!!!
Craig, I'd love to hear what all you did to your Camaro to get it to run like that!

Well, with 470lb-ft of torque, a dry weight of 3147lbs, and 0-60 time
of 3.5 (and 1/4 mile in 11.5 @ 127.1), I think it'd do just fine on a
shorter track, too. It's standing in the rankings for the
Nurburgring Nordschleife may mean it has a good top end game, but it
also necessitates good handling.
-
Oh, and that is, of course, for the new C6 Corvette Z06. One awesome machine!
-
And what do you consider a 'real race track'? How about the
Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany? I'd consider that a real race
track. Here are some times for one lap around it:
The Nordschleife Hall of Fame:
Porsche Carrera GT___________7 min 32 sec
Chevrolet Corvette Z06________7 min 42 sec
Porsche 996 GT2_____________7min 42 sec
Pagani Zonda S______________7 min 44 sec
Lamborghini Murcielago________7 min 50 sec
Lamborghini Gallardo__________7 min 52 sec
Mercedes-McLaren SLR________7 min 52 sec
Chevrolet Corvette C6________7 min 59 sec
Porsche 911_________________8 min 07 sec
Dodge Viper GTS_____________8 min 10 sec
If you want something a little more elaborate, I can do that, too.

No, Corvettes are gay.
Man. Don't get me started! I just defended the 'Vette on
another board. Hmm...although, I could just paste that post over
here.....hehe....

Good on ya for apologizing, man. We all have our faults, and we
always will, no matter how far down the road of life we are. The
only thing we can do is to try and fix them, which takes a lot of time
and effort. But it's worth it.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I appreciate them.
Oh, and I'm glad to hear I should be good with management...maybe I should think about that..lol. []
And I just don't know what's up here lately with so many people on
forums thinking I write well...I sure wish my english teacher thought
so..!! []
-
Isn't that his challenge?
-
Hehe...you pokin' a finger in my rib? []
I'm quite confident I've never heard it. And so, I'll either look
it up with the lyrics and disqualify myself, or just wait 'til someone
figures it out.

Well, since you already have your firesuit on I won't waste any fuel...I'm personally
disappointed everytime a good speaker company comes out with something
like this. When Polk came out with the I-Sonic, I mourned.
When Klipsch came out with the iGroove, the same feeling swept over
me. However, I didn't mourn.
You see, I already associated
Klipsch with the Bose/JBL/Infinity/whoever-else-you-want-to-put-in-here
category because of the multimedia stuff. I just see all that as
being on the same level. I personally think companies like Polk,
Klipsch, Paradigm, Wharfedale, Energy, etc, etc, should just stick to
making nice speakers.
I guess if they need to make
the cheaper, 'convenient' stuff for the non-audio-inclined to make a
profit (haha) I'm ok with that. Just as long as none of that
affects the other line-ups (which is pretty much impossible as it would
at the least take money and R&D time/manpower away).
Anyhoo,
I would just prefer everyone associate the name Klipsch with the
Heritage and Reference series. I personally wouldn't even mind if
they dropped the Synergy line.

*puts on flame suit*
other then to ask, "Did you think the same thoughts when the
Buckmiester Buggy Whip Company of Michigan began working on a line of
Auto Parts?" (purely ficticious)
"Did you think the same
thoughts when Klipsch announced the RVX4 line of small speakers in an
effort to sell some product to the folks who have to have the latest,
sleekest flat panel displays in their minimalist 'living-rooms'?"
What
is Klipsch to do, stand pat on the the small segment of the home
electronics market that existing Heritage and Referance line address
while the majority of the industry cashes in on the boom that is the
"multimedia" portion of the market? [*-)]
I realize that a new company has to broaden its horizon's and embrace
new markets, in some instances, to survive. Perhaps my youth and
idealism just give me a skewed sense of when they should.
As for what I thought about Klipsch's line of small speakers designed,
I assume, to go with plasma TVs, yes, I had the same thoughts.
I'd prefer 'real' speakers, if you know what I mean.

Seems as thought I've heard those lyrics before. I'll be interested to see what the song is.
So lemme get the rules straigh. If someone gives these lyrics,
and I think it is this song, can I look up the lyrics to this song and
see if the given lyrics are in fact in the song I think it is?
And will that disqualify me? I think it shouldn't, as you're
still going on memory and experience when you're trying to decide what
the song is.

Very nice quotes in your signature, T2K.

Man, that's one big armoire (sp? and is that what that is?) to make the RF-7s look that small!!
-
Man, this stuff is just too funny.
First up, yes, I think he should apologize. As I said before, we
all owe our elders respect, and we should give everyone else respect,
too. As far as I can tell, he has shown none to his elders (or
women).
As for the different identities thing, I can see as that'd be fun, but
it's fake. I just don't agree with it. And justifying it by
saying that the youth is usually not taken seriously? Yeah, that
may be the case in general, but if you have good manners (and mean
them), are polite and considerate, show respect, and in general show
good character, that will change. Though I'm not very learned by
any stretch in audio and a lot of people may disagree with me on a lot
of things, I've never had someone on a forum look down on me just
because of my age.
The status quo is no reason to not reach for more.

Well, I'd at least try to keep from using searches if you banned
them. Though I can tell you now that I'd never figure any of them
out. The only ones I've heard of so far...have been the ones I've
aske about! lol
Try it and see how it goes.
I think I made a mistake with my 299B
