  1. Thebes, I just did the check you recommended and the mid horn the one speaker is not working at all. So I looked inside and saw that both the wires from the mid horn were disconnected. Mind you this is on my Heresy 1's that I got on Ebay a while back. Can anyone tell me where the wire with black stripe goes, terminal one or two on the horn.?
  2. Excuse me for asking but, grasshopper here would like to know what "caps" are. Maybe even a picture would be nice. I think that I would like to replace these things to get even better sound....and maybe learn a little bit in the process. I'm starting to get interested in learning more about the ins and outs of speakers. Wish there was a book you could buy that would teach all about these things like "crossover" etc which is just jargon to to me.
  3. Yeah It's decent for the money. In checking out some other threads, there seems to be possibly a consensus that Heresy only shine with a tube amplifier. Am I cheating myself by using this NAD?
  4. dtel's wife asked: "What kind of receiver are you using? SS NAD Integrated Amplifier C 320BEE
  5. First, let me preface my comments but saying I'm no authority on sound or a self styled audiophile. This is the first Klipsch speakers I have ever owned and my first impression is that they sound so different than my Infinity rs3b's. Something about the speakers make you want to pay attention to the music and focus in, that is interesting. I have mixed feeling about them, however. Maybe it's just that I have to get used to them, but they kind of sound like I am listening to an over sized transistor radio. I can't put my finger on it. The bass guitar sounds not accurate, nor do the drums. When I listen to Black Cow or Aja by Steely Dan it does not seem like it is accurate with the drums or bass guitar. Do drums really sound that dull or thuddy. It does the vocals, piano, and horns exceptionally well, so that is why I am torn. They sound wonderful and strange all at the same time. I would be interested to hear what other's think about the Heresy 2's strengths and weaknesses are. For the person who asked, I paid $100 them, with damaged finishes from water stains.
  6. I bought a pair of Klipsch Heresy's at a yard sale and after the word Type it says: HII and then "OL" or maybe it is "DL". It is hand written and I assume by a factory worker. I know the HII is for two's but what is the OL stand for. thanx, Mark
  7. Hamish, thanks loads for the info. Preciate it. You know this daily sunshine can be quite monotonous. We all would love if it would snow sometimes here in Maui, just as long as it could happen without the temp goin below 70f. Mark
  8. I am wanting to buy a pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers between the years 1975 and 1980 but I want to know if the date of manufacture is always printed on the back of these speakers. If not could you tell by the serial number? Also if anyone has a good pair of Heresys for sale let me know. Problem is I live in Hawaii. I have put an add in the paper and got a few replies from responders for La scalas and K-horns which I know nothing about. I just heard a friend's Heresys years ago and was smitten. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mark in Maui
