  1. Hello, We are trying to set up a smaller system in our living room. The room is 15 x 12 with 10' ceilings. We have a 1 year old and thus want to get a system that can be mounted on the walls. The center is not a problem as it will sit on top of our entertainment center. We have pretty much narrowed it down to these options: 1. 4x RSX-4 and RCX-4 2. 4x RSX-5 and RCX-4 3. 4x RB-15 and RC-25 Of these 3 options, which would you prefer and why? We have done an A/B of the RSX-4's and RB-15's and prefer the sound of the RB-15's. Our concern is that the RB-15's will not perform well on a wall since they have a rear port. Is this concern correct? Will the use of mounting brackets cure the problem, if any? We have not compared the RSX-5's to the RSX-4's or RB-15's as the local dealer only has the 5's set up as a surround speaker. Will the RSX-5's be noticeably better than the 4's such that our preference for the RB-15's would change? The sub that we have in mind is the PB10-ISD. Will this sub match well with the above options? Thank you very much!! Chris
  2. Hello, I was looking through Ebay and came across the following auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47095&item=3763659454&rd=1 The auction is for a pair of RF-25 tower speakers, but the serial number shown is RF35BK-.... Have any of you seen a mistake like this before? Is there a good chance that these are not authentic RF-25's? I emailed the seller and have not yet heard back, but wanted to get your opinion. Thanks in advance!!! Chris
  3. Does everyone consider the 35s to be a large upgrade to my current setup or is it merely a baby step? Thanks!!
  4. Thanks for the advice so far. I have been out to my local shop and listened to the 25 series and loved them. Unfortunately, as many of you know, the Reference and Synergy lines are not carried by the same shops. Without having to bring them home and do an A/B comparison, I just wanted to get everyone's opinion as to whether you would consider the 25s an upgrade to what I have now. As for the decision between the 25s and 35s I would really hold that for later as I am just in the planning stages of my upgrade. (Of course, I want to get the most for my money) Therefore, I guess that my real question is if you think that the 25s are a step up from my current setup?
  5. Hello all, My current setup consists of the following: Fronts: Synergy SF-2 Center: Synergy SC-1 Surround: Synergy SS-1 Sub: KSW-12 Receiver: Pioneer Elite 43TX I am starting to get the upgrade bug and would really like to move into the Reference line. I have been reading through the spec sheets and the forum and realize that the Reference line is generally much more highly regarded than the Synergy line. My question is which Reference line is a lateral move from my current setup (if such a comparison is possible) and which is an upgrade. It seems as though the 25 series is a lateral move and the 35 series is an upgrade. Is this correct? My room is not very big and only measures approximately 12' x 15'. Given the size of my room, is the 35 overkill? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
