  1. Anyone have any experience/info on a Marantz Model 30? I have one but haven't hooked it up to my Klipsch Chorus II's yet. It used to always pop off and on and had a bit of nob noise/crackle so I never bother trying it. Thanks in advance.
  2. What goes on fellow Klipsch junkies. New to the board but long time Klipsch owner/fanatic. My main system consists of a pair of Chorus II (which I have been enjoying for the past 10 years) an Academy center channel and KM4 rear towers and a JBL SBP120II (or something like that) sub. I am running the system off of a Yamaha 5490 Receiver using monster Z series wires up front. I have a Pioneer DVD Audio/SACD combo unit as my source and everything sounds great for both 2 channel and multi channel recordings and movies. However I am curious to try another source for these speakers (I originally had a Denon AVR2000 Pro Logic receiver which may have sounded better....never had the patience to do A/B listening with it though). I guess there is no real practical way to have this system wired to two different power sources or even easily switchable is there? I read through a lot of older posts and people seem to like older integrated amps to power their Chorus'. Well I have a Marantz Model Thirty Integrated amp from the 70's. I never wired it up to the Chorus's but when we had it running a pair of Rectlinear 3 speakers it always just popped off at medium levels and them popped back on (hence why I never hooked it up the Chorus'...I may give it a shot given any replies here)....it also has some crackling in some of the knobs but nice condition otherwise. Does anyone have experience with this Marantz IA? Would it be worth having it cleaned up/checked out somewhere? I would presume that could cost a decent amount though and wonder if if would be worth it. I also have a new Hafler amp I use in my music set up to power a pair of Tannoy Reveal monitor speakers that I plan on testing our with the Chorus' one of these days.
