the rf7s are too big and more money than I want to spend. It's unbelievable the advice you get around here... I stated both those points in my post. It's amazing.. I ask for comparison between synergy and rf.. and get told that the ref. are far better. Now, I'm looking at getting the RF5s and they aren't good enough? Odd...

I can score some RF5's for $960 shipped. I'm close to ending this deal, any more advice or info you guys can give me? I can't fit RF7s in my room, and can't dropped the extra $ for them anyway. So far I've looked at the SF3, F3, and RF35.. then I came across these RF5. I'm pretty much sold, but I want to keep my hears open for opinions. Thanks!

I've got a line on some RF5s for $960 shipped. Fully warrantied. Now you guys are making me feel that they aren't what I want! I don't have room for RF7s; So these 5s seem like the most bang for the buck... arg...

def. not better than the refs. but f3 our the newer version based of sf3/rf35/rf3. so it's just an evolution. I'm shooting for the RF5s but the new f3s are still in the running..

Thanks for your advice. I am torn between driving to bb today and getting some f3's for $850. (+tax) Or wait and get some RF-5's for $1100 shipped. I'm sure the RF-5's are better, i'm just wondering how much and if I "need" 5's. thanks!

which synergy product did you compare the rf-35's to? I'm in the market for: SF-3 F-3 RF-35 RF-5 I'm leaning towards the new F-3 because of price and performance. Trey Cannon posted his thoughts on the new Synergy line. And it seems that the newer synergy (f-3, etc.) are very good, and a nice improvement over the previous synergy line. Thanks!

Great reply Steve! I feel the same as you do. my two dollars and fifty cents: I've been to a lot of different places, and talked to a lot of different people. And most of the idiots that I ran into, came from just about anywhere. Spec. shops didn't have a clue about the recent history of the Synergy line. And really was a complete tool. Just wanting to sell me something I didn't need. Might as well of tried selling me a new hammer, or duct tape; as I wasn't buying a new amp/preamp or "elite" receiver. I like my Yamaha. I'd like separates, but not now. The BB guy where I went, just for the hell of it; was probably the biggest fan and most knowledgeable salesmen I've seen in years. They didn't have the new F-3's on display as they were working on the section. It's disappointing, but I'm not buying them to listen to at BB, so I don't really care how they sound there. I can always go back, there are bb's everywhere... But usually the people there don't have a clue. Good attitude, but clueless. So it really doesn't matter where they come from or where they work, I'm going to go with the person that Knows what is what, and isn't just working on increasing his commission. I was in sales, I know what it's like. That's why I left sales, because I sold sh!t, and I had a bad conscience for selling it. This all boils down to making a informed decision. I too, have done my research; and I'm still doing it here. RF35 are avail. for the same as the F-3, give or take a few $$. SF-3's are available for about $200 less, a pair. Just wondering what that few extra dollars is going to get me. Doesn't seem like I'll be disappointed in any direction... Thanks everyone for there input!

thanks lostboy, I found the same deal as you described just last week. But thanks for the effort! Much appreciated; and of course it's the thought that counts, right? I've narrowed it down to the following: RF-35 for $690/pr./shipped. SF-3 for $500/pr./shipped. F-3 for whatever I can score at Best Buy. (So far that has been @$560/pr. - 800.) After a little research I'm finding out that the F-3 has slightly better bass and less of an "in your face" approach with vocals as the S-3. And I can't stop thinking about owning the RF-35 for such a good price... But, having researched that the SF-3 was derived from the RF-35; and the F-3 is of newer design and acoustic features... As you can see, many choices. It's starting to seem like a viscous circle. $ is def. playing a factor. I'm not trying to penny pinch, but there Really is something to be said about "less expensive" and "better". Or maybe not "better" but in this case, very similar. Whatever I go with, I'm going to be pleased. But I could also add a fatter wallet to go along with that dumb smile that Klipsch is known to give. K.R., Chris

Wow! that is a great price. I was at BB when they had them on sale for $680/pr. I should have jumped on them then.. now, only days later; the sale is over. I am thinking about buying them at retail, and hoping a sale puts back up in the next 30 days. They will honor a price change or another store price for 30 days after purchase. Just sucks that I didn't get in on them when they were $200 cheaper! Or more by the looks of things!! I would have loved to get them for $272. ea.!!! Poor me...

after further reading it looks like the F3 is the SF3 replacement, which copied the RF3 design, but slightly different components? I'm looking for bang for buck here, and right now, the SF-3 for $400-500/pair is looking better than the F-3 for $600-800/pair. If anyone has any input, I would appreciate hearing it.

I have a chance at getting some SF3's at a good price. Is the F3 mearly an updated version of the SF3? I'm a newbie when it comes to Klipsch. SF3, Pair, $400 F3, Pair, $650 *BBY sale (if still going on people were getting them even less! 272 ea.!) Thanks!

Hello, I'm new here as I've recently started looking at changing some of my HT gear. Years ago I heard some Klipsch and I was very impressed, hence why I'm here. SO anyway.. is there a big difference between the SF3 and F3? How do they compare to the Refrence 5's? Thanks!!
