  1. How is your front center La Scala placed in relationship to your TV? Since my 65" Hitachi TV is a full cabinet that sits on the floor, I am concerned that the sound wouldn't seem to come from the picture if the center speaker was off to one side of the TV. 78Khorn
  2. Gilbert, do you have Cornwalls or Cornwall II's? Is one a better match for my 78 Khorns than the other?
  3. I'm not familiar with an industrial LaScala. They come in two sections from Klipsch?
  4. The reason I'm asking is I'm looking for a center speaker for my system and I want to match my Khorns. I have a 65" TV so I was thinking if the Belle came in two pieces like the Khorn I could split a Belle and put the top section on top of the TV and the bass/bottom next to the TV? Any comments on this idea or what other match would work well as a center with my Khorns.
  5. Does a Belle speaker cabinet come apart in two pieces like a Klipschorn or is it a one piece cabinet like a LaScala?
  6. I wasn't able to find the Belles on eBay. What is the link? I just sold the RC-7 I had for a center to get something that's matches my Khorns better. I'm not sure I can fit a Belle in the room though since I'm working around a 65" TV.
  7. Are you still looking for a RC-7? I think I'm going to sell mine. It is about 8 months old, black and in perfect condition. If your interested let me know and we can discuss details via e-mail. Tim
  8. I've been thinking about replacing my center position RC-7 with a speaker that better matches my khorn's and heresy's. The one I have is black, in perfect condition, and is about 8 months old. I'll let you know in a day or so if I'm interested.
  9. I hooked up the new ALK's in my K-horns with them set at the as arrived X-4 squawker tap setting. The increased bass and the tightness of the bass as compared to my 27 year old AA's was unbelivable. I listened to them for about an hour playing a few different music selections and decided I needed to try changing the squawker tap settings to increase the upper end volume a little as well as improve the presence of the vocals. I was listening to Diana Krall in particular as my reference point. I changed the taps up one setting to 2-5 and it accomplished exactly what I was looking for. The soundstage and presence was excellent (better than my AA's), the upper end volume better balanced with the bass, and the base was still noticably improved over the AA's and tight. I then hooked up the crossovers using bi-wire and believe that the presence of the mid and upper end improved a little more. I'm not energetic enough to change back and forth to and from bi-wire to ensure the improvement is real, but I'm satisfied enough that I heard a difference that I'm leaving them hooked up that way. (can't hurt) After I've had more listening time with a wider variey of music I'll provide one more update. Al K, I'm a happy customer! 78 Khorn
  10. The ALK's have shipped. I should see them in a couple of days and I will let you all know what I think.
  11. Just picked up my new Heresy II's today. They will become my surrounds to go with my K-horn mains. The fit and quality of the cabinet looks outstanding. The stands are reversible without any modification and the screw holes line up. This works great for me since the speakers are being mounted up on shelves on my back wall. The reversed stands tip them down to point them at my listening position.
  12. Those extra crossovers could be used for bi-amplification of the speakers on the base side if someone wanted to do that couldn't they? Something I am thinking about trying down the road with my AA's after the ALK's I ordered arrive for my Khorns.

    My HT

The Khorns are 21 feet apart and that is actually the short wall. The long wall is 24.5 feet from corner to corner but I'd have a hard time arranging the room if I went that way. I'm thinking down the road I may replace the RC-7 with a Cornwall. I bought the RC-7 before I did my homework. Fortunatly I was able to change the order I had for RS-7s to Heresy's for my surround speakers to get a better match for the Khorns . They should arrive in about a month. I've learned alot from this forum.

  20. Well, after reading all the ALK threads on the forum, I ordered ALK type A crossovers from Al today. I figured it was time to improve the AA crossovers on my Khorns after 27 years. They should show up about the same time as the Heresy's I have on order for my surround channel. Can't wait to hear the difference the type A's will make!
  21. Anyone have experience or thoughts on the B&K AVR-507 also?
  22. Can you explain the soft clip tech comment for me? A lot of positive comments for the NAD but I see a few of people who have had reliability problems with NAD also (although the 773 wasn't mentioned directly). Anyone have any additional comments on the reliability of NAD? Thanks for the feedback!
  23. OK, for the HT I'm putting together what do you think would work the best with my Heritage speakers (K-horns and Heresy's), a NAD-T773 or a Rotel RSX-1067? They both appear to be comparably priced. Or do you have another suggestion.
  24. I got a 1014tx from Harmony Computers for $405. That include 3-day shipping by UPS. I ordered on a Saturday and they shipped it on Monday. It was on my doorstep Thursday from New York to Washington State. Warranty card included.
