  1. Here is a link to the specs on the 1000ES: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rcmMKN9jCcB/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?I=158strda1k&search=da1000es It looks like they have phased this model out but I'm sure they can still be found, if not the 2100ES is another nice sony model.
  2. Have a look at a Sony STR-DA1000ES, you can pick them up for ~$300.00. Might not be the best receiver out there but hard to beat for the price.
  3. Thanks for all the replies! I think I got it figured out now that I won't be blowin these up with higher wattage of the 3000ES, may even look at the 5000ES. I know there are a lot of folks out there that don't care for Sony but I have always had sony with a lot of good luck. I guess I am just brand loyal and the ES line is pretty nice imho. I guess if my ears were better I would need something more Thanks all! Rob
  4. I have RB-25's (rated at 75w, 400 Peak), RC-25 (rated 150w, 400 peak) with quintet surrounds (someday will be RS-25's) and an RW-12 sub. I love the setup and the sound for this system is AWESOME. But my HT receiver is 7 old and needs updated. I am currently looking at a Sony DA1000ES (100 watts) DA2000ES (120 watts) or a Sony DA3000ES (150 watts). My question is, am I going to blow the RC-25's and the quintets with this much wattage if I go with the 3000ES? I know the RB-25's are rated 400 peak but only 75 continous. Can someone explain how to match the power to the speakers? Thanks, Rob
