  1. I'm on a budget so I'm thinking about the Velodyne VX10 (instead of the RW10) to go with my RB-25 speakers. The VX10 is just $130 at onecall.com. Does anyone have any comments on the VX10?
  2. I'm trying to build a small, great sounding system. I'll be using a RW-8 or RW-10 and am wondering if there will be a noticable difference between a RB-15 and RB-25. Both speakers appear to have the same tweeter and horn, with the only difference being the woofer (5.25in vs. 6.5). The size of the woofer shouldn't make much difference since I'm using a subwoofer, should it?
  3. Does anyone know if the sound would be compromised by placing a RB-25 bookshelf speaker on it's side (horizontally) on my shelf?
  4. I'm considering purchasing RB-25 bookshelf speakers and a RW10 subwoofer (total of around $800), but I just found a co-worker that has a pair of KG3 speakers along with a KG SW subwoofer (circa 1990). He's selling this setup for $200 (includes stands for speakers). Can anyone comment on how the two setups would compare? This is my first entry into the world of audiophile grade speakers, so I don't know much about this stuff. I've found out that the KG SW subwoofer is not a "powered" subwoofer. Do powered subwoofers put out quite a bit more sound than non-powered subwoofers? Is the wiring different for non-powered subwoofers. Also, the KG3 speakers are quite a bit larger than the RB-25, but the KG3 is rated at 65 watts, vs 75 watts for the RB-25. Have the advances in technology since 1990 allowed more power in a smaller speaker?
  5. I have a small living room (15 x 15) and don't have room for big speakers, but want a system that sounds great. I'm thinking of going with the RB-25 bookshelf speakers (due to their size) along with a RW-10 subwoofer. Can anyone comment on this configuration? I won't be playing at super loud volumes, but want a full, acurate sound at medium and low volumes. Thanks.
