  1. thanks everyone for the info...... i think im going to wait to upgrade to horns....... not in the budget at the moment but maybe in a few months. thanks again everyone you guys are great.
  2. thank you all for the warm welcome. at the moment there is a pair of lascalas on ebay. item # 5756390029 . what do you think? is there a difference in lascalas as far as the year type? what would be a suffice bid?. i guess when i find the right klipsch i will probably again seek advice for mods from you guys. thanks again. this is a great site. im glad to have found it.
  3. if you buy alot of stuff from ebay....... i would consider using biddnapper.com .... heres how it works. place a bid that you are willing to pay. biddnapper will place your bid at the very last second before the auction ends that would make it impossible for someone to outbid you. i think its well worth the fee if you shop alot on ebay. take care.
  4. hello everyone...... this is my story i purchased a pair of chorus's 16 years ago. the first time i heard them i fell in love. i listen to mostly to rock, and metal. i had them hooked up to a pioneer sx-1250 receiver. from the first day to the last i drove them to the ground. i cant believe the punishment they endured. they went to hell and back just about every other weekend. i have a friend and a brother who are "audiophiles".... during the years every time i would mention my klipsch they would laugh and make remarks like "trash" "junk". after listening to them for about 2 years i decided to jump into the "audiophile" level. so i put my klipsch on ebay. sold them for $375. after selling them i was very excited. i went to tweeter and a few local hi-end speaker stores. after trying several pairs by different companys..... polk, dynaudio, kef .....etc.....even trying to build a kit from parts express "vifa with morels"......i just wasnt happy. i was thinking maybe i was doing something wrong? i just didnt like the sound. yes they sounded good at moderate levels........but try turning them up........ they sound like ****. i went to my friend who is an "expert".... thinking maybe he can point me in the right direction. first he replied ..... you need a "bigger" amp or maybe "monoblocks" "high end" speakers require monster amps. after spending a few hours with him talking about ohms and sensitivity and thd.........he gave me a list. 1. bigger amp.... getting rid of my reciever for separates. maybe a new cd player. 2. consider putting carpet on my wood floors. 3. upgrade cables connectors....etc 4. try positioning the speakers in different parts of the room is this guy for real?????????????????????????????????? i spent close to $2500 for speakers that sound like ****. now i need carpet????? is it me or is there something wrong with that picture?????? carpets?????????????? positioning???? you could put the klipsch anywhere.... under your sofa and they would still kick ***. i dont know much about audio but i loved my klipsch. groups like pink floyed were made to be played only with klipsch. maybe im going crazy.... idont know. after spending all this money and time the only thing i learned is what is an "audiophile"................... its a person with lots of cash....... and ears like my klipsh.......... "very sensitive" lately i have been on ebay looking for my chorus's......i feel like an idiot. as much as i would like to buy a pair..........i just cant do it. my wife would kill me. she told me "dont sell" they sound good. but did i listen! im asking for help from this forum. i dont know much about klipsh speakers. i was thinking of buying lascalas......... i want something better than the chorus's to justify my upgrade. i cant go back to the wife with my old chorus's after she wanted to buy a new sofa set until i convinced her to get an "audiophile" speaker. if i come back with chorus's maybe ill be sleeping on the sofa. which speaker from klipsch would make me happy again. please help. i listen to alot of rock and metal and play at high volumes. thanks they say you dont know what you have until you loose it...........now i know what that means. if i ever get divorced she can take the house, car, dog........... but not my klipsch. thanks everyone "
